And the downward spiral continues, surprising to say the least.... :meds:

Downward spiral? Yeah, hiring a top notch coaching staff and having arguably the nation's top LB class already verballed are signs of a decline. :meds:

I wouldnt expect the casual fan to know what is going on w/ the Brandon Warren situation. Bobby Bowden has always had a policy that he wouldnt release a kid from his schollie if he was transferring to an ACC or SEC school. The excuse Warren is using doesn't fly b/c when he committed in '06 his mom was in worse condition than she is now. She is recovering nicely. It didnt seem to be a problem for him then. Fat Phil sent Rae Sykes(Tenn Commit) to FSU to visit on the last weekend. He happens to be best buds w/ Warren. After the weekend, Warren all of a sudden gets home sick. Let's not forget that he had already enrolled in Spring classes, so if he was truly worried about his mom he wouldnt have enrolled after xmas break. Bowden is just making Warren be a man and honor his commitment.

I am happy his ass got denied. Kids sign a letter to be given a schollie to play at FSU. Not FSU's fault if that kid gets home sick.

Nice troll job though...

You calling someone a dick, yeah seems to look like a compliment to me.

Do some research on the matter and get back to us.

Bobby Bowden wrote:When Brandon came by my office in January 2007 to tell me he wanted to transfer from FSU, I told him I would not even consider it. If players are allowed to break a contract whenever they wish, we do not need the national letter-of-intent. Without it, we would allow unscrupulous coaches to steal players from other schools. It would cost thousands of dollars every time this occurs.
Could you imagine Nick Saban saying that? Or maybe Dennis Franchione?

so, is this about letter of intent or transfers?

there is an analytical difference.

Agreed. Coaches should be held to the same standard.

He's homesick....like that's never happened before? He's transferring HOME! It's not like he's going to USC or Oklahoma. Tenn is closest to home. It's stupid and a shame.

If you get homesick, you're a pussy. That's like admitting he has a vagina.

Especially freshmen. I love my folks and all, but once I got to experience the freedom of college, never did I yearn to go home.

And MAryland and Jersey aren't exactly sharing backyards.

Even though you guys are right, I'd let him go.

My first goal as a head coach would be to filter out all the pussies.

I agree with Frisco about if you get homesick, you're a pussy. But still, Bowden's a douche. Let the kid out of his schollie. It's the right thing to do. If he doesn't wanna be there, he doesn't have to be. Bowden saying that they need to honor their "contracts" is fucking horsepuckey coming from a coach. If coaches expect their recruits to honor their contracts, then they should honor their contracts and never leave a school for another school/the pros. Besides, why would you want someone that doesn't wanna be there to play on your team? I hope he stays and then drops every pass thrown his way, and on his senior day takes a giant dump on Bobby's foot.

JON,

If there ever was a coach who believed a kid should honor his commitment, it's Bowden. He never strayed from FSU and has been there 30+ years. Someone like Saban on the other hand could never demand such a thing.

He is not stopping him from leaving. He is just not waiving him so he can be put on schollie at the ut.
