In a Web posting, the Islamic State of Iraq, an insurgent alliance that includes al-Qaida, demanded that the Americans stop the search because it will "lead to nothing but exhaustion."
"Your soldiers are in our hands. If you want their safety, do not search for them," the statement said.
Well, that's all I needed to hear. fugedaboutit, and just go on about your business. Maybe you'll see them again with their heads still attached to their shoulders, and maybe you won't.
After all:
"In the war against you, sometimes we win, sometimes we lose."
Yep, it's just like a game of poker. How dare those American swine search for their missing? Fucking arrogant pigs.

I doubt this would need to get Dubya's attention before commanders on the ground there react with what should be SOP by now.
And no, I don't take it personally. I'm just amused at the naivette of these chumps ramblings. Those soldiers are probably already dead, or wish they were by now.
For every US soldier that is tortured and killed, the same should happen to 100 Muslims in this country.... we will just have to find someone else to work in the gas stations and 7-11s
"Black Jack" Pershing was a racist piece of shit colonialist/imperialist--you forgot that part. And the fact that the U.S. had no business whatsoever invading the Philippines and murdering a million or so of its citizens. And that there were NO muslim extremists in the Philippines at that time, etc. In short, you're post is bullshit.
Now come on home to some real John Wayne paradigm fantasy trips for idiotic scared phoneys like yourself,

It is a completely apocryphal account that is demonstrably false on several counts. Pershing was noted for his diplomatic ability with Moro tribes. The hold outs referenced were Muslims (sorta) and they were fanatical, but they were not Muslim extremists in any sense of the term we use today. They were primarily pirates and brigands who refused to give their lawless ways.
Muslim (even if only sorta)- check
Fanatical- check
Pirates & Brigands - check
I'd say that's pretty goddam close to the sense we employ the term "muslim extremist" today.
Regardless whatever Pershing did or didn't do in the Phillipenes, the experience there was one of the drivers of our military adopting the .45ACP pistol round. Seems the .38spl in use at the time just didn't have the necessary stopping power against fanatics!

No, modern Muslim extremists are political revolutionaries as well as religious fanatics with a global outlook.
Moro pirates were local criminals.
So your quibble is with the word "extremist". Fine. Not a big deal-btw.
