OCmike's Humpday Challenge
There is only one rule: No more than one correctly answered question per person, per hour.
1. Of the 54 peaks in the Rocky Mountains over 14,000 feet high, how many are contained in Colorado?
2. In 1861, a gentleman who lived close to the battlefield at Bull Run was upset that a cannon ball had hit his home. 3. Colorado entered the Union as the 38th state in what year?
4. Which country(s) have laid claim in the past to all or part of present day Colorado?
5 When the Civil War ended, Confederate President Jefferson Davis was stripped of his United States citizenship. What United States President restored the citizenship of Jefferson Davis?.
6. What supposed campaign gaffe by Jimmy Carter was thought by some to be of such magnitude as to cost him the presidency?
7. When American Charles Lindbergh made aviation history by flying non-stop solo across the Atlantic Ocean, where did he land?
8. The landmark civil-rights case, Brown vs. Board of Education, originated from what state?
9. How many states joined the Union in the 20th century?
10. In 1973 when Gerald Ford replaced Spiro Agnew as vice-president, he became the first appointed vice-president in U.S. history. What position had he held?
11. what does the 26th Amendment, adopted in 1971, address?
12. What cigarette’s slogan was "tastes good like a cigarette should"?
13. Who is the only player to steal five bases in one game?
14. Who is the only player to steal at least 100 bases in his first three years in the big leagues?
15. Who holds the record for most innings pitched?
16. What baseball team had the MVP winner in 1970, 72, 73, 75, 76 and 77?
17. Who was the first tight end to catch 90 or more receptions in a single season?
18. Who was the Green Bay Packers first-ever head coach?
19. What QB has been sacked more than any other (career)?

Spain HAD to have been one of the countries. There simply is no way it could not have been. Both the territory from the Louisiana Purchase and the Mexican Cession were at one time claimed by Spain.
However, my guess is that your trick question is referring to the once independent country of Texas.

It's not a trick question if it's fact. :D

6. What supposed campaign gaffe by Jimmy Carter was thought by some to be of such magnitude as to cost him the presidency?
Admitted that he had lusted after other women.
Barry Goldwater's campaign slogan had been,
"Barry Goldwater. In your heart you know he's right".
Hence,
“Jimmy Carter. In his heart, he knows your wife”.

BTW: Terry, have you not learned that a former 49er player or coach is ALWAYS the answer?

You're right. I found a bunch of other guys who had five. The answer given from the website I got the question from was Tony Gwynn.

You must have read the question wrong. Tony Gwynn once stole
five plates of food from unsuspecting people near his table at a restaurant.

Actually, Walsh was the first one to come to mind, but I then thought of Noll. For some reason I was thinking that '72 was his rookie season, and there was no way he could have racked up 100 career regular season wins in that short a time. This might actually qualify as a trick question, since Noll racked up
exactly 100 career regular-season victories by the time he won his third Super Bowl.

The question is very clear. The last time I checked, the number 100 is not less than 100. Am I missing something, tard?

Trick question, as in designed to elicit a wrong answer.

A personality? Debatable. I am an asshole, and proud of it, btw... but I think my posts have generated at least 100 times (this means
100 or more, btw) more chuckles than yours over the years.

Not even close.

I don't know about you, but I don't google HDC questions. I either know it, or sometimes take an educated guess.
In this case, I googled only after ocmike answered the question, since he's been known to do so incorrectly a time or two in the past. I knew that (a) Noll won three Super Bowls, and (b) did so before Walsh. So the only possible exclusion of Noll could have been 100 or more wins prior to the third Supre Bowl win.
I didn't know exactly how many wins Noll had before winning his third Super Bowl (and I doubt that few if any here did), but I knew that in all but the last season (he got his third Super Bowl after the '78 season, when you probably weren't yet able to feed yourself), the NFL had a 14-game season. I took an educated guess that Noll had less than 100 wins. It turned out that he had exactly 100.
In other words, if Noll had had
one fewer win through the '78 season, he would have been the answer to that question. It's entirely reasonable to be off by one win in one's guesstimation of Noll's win total through the '78 season.
So how is that fucking up simple math?
