That video is by far the worse portrayal of a darkie. Don't know if any of you are hip/hop fans, but the Third Coast (Houston) has exploded onto the Hip/Hop scene over the last couple of years and some of the older artists shared their reason as to why some of them act the way they do. Its all a front. Slim Thug basically said most of these idiots know better, but they chose to act like they don't know any better. They choose to hear what they want to hear and try to be all "gangsta and shit". There was a bitter rivalry here between the North and South side of town from way back in the days of Scarface and the Fifth Ward Boyz. They met up at a club after both parties did some mixed tapes "dissing" on each other and the shit got ugly. The north and south side formed their gangs and then a war broke out with a bunch on naggers killing each other in the early 90's.
Well, basically what you see today is the same hatred from 17 years ago. Its fucking stupid, but this is how they operate. A friend of mine knows Lil' Flip and he said Flip thinks its stupid too, but because of the influence from his friends when he was younger, he went through the same stage picking sides and was trying to be all hard and shit. He figured out it was dumb and wised up. Its mostly teenagers who are really this ignorant. When they get older, most of them tend to wise up somewhat and don't come off as retarded as those idiots in that video. My co-worker moolie on the oil rig barge (who was a solid guy, btw), was from a moderately shitty part of Jackson, Mississippi. According to him, any blacks who didn't "do some dirt" and just held down regular jobs and paid their bills were not only considered sellouts, but were said to be "acting white". Stupid some?
He was a reformed drug dealer who had turned his life around and gone completely straight, but was dating a chick who still had to "keep it rill". She had a regular job, but on the side she pirated DVDs and sold them for $5-$10 apiece. I mean, how stupid do you have to be? Together they made plenty of money to pay their bills, yet she felt like she had to be involved in some sort of criminal behavior to truly be black.
