Nice job- again. I always enjoy your photo essays, especially since I'm a displaced good ol' boy from Ft. Rucker. How's that scooter ride in that sandy soil when you get it off the pavement, btw?

The lady waiting at the window appears to be a pretty big fan of the fried chicken.

Nice photo essay as always. I'm taking a ride through Sun Valley, Idaho and over to Stanley. I've driven it several times but this will be my first trip on a bike. It's a startlingly beautiful place. Red fish lake is so clear you can see the bottom through twenty feet of water. The thing has no ripples except the ones trout make. It's gonna be sweet. Maybe I'll take pictures but probably not. I don't think about stuff like that.

Interesting.

Many areas of the country occasionally experience a meteorological phenomenon known as "wind." The mouth of the Snake River, downstream from Idaho is rumored to have invented this "wind" thing. While the actual inventor of "wind" is a matter of debate, it's generally agreed that it was concieved in the Lower Columbia Valley, which is in proximity to Idaho..

If I ever get tired of the wind that comes with the maritime climate, I guess I'll head to Idaho.

Didn't you get the memo?

There's no wind blowing in Red Fish Lake, Idaho...ever.

I'm familiar with this "wind" concept you put forth. I've seen it in action more than once. For whatever reason I've never seen wind at Red Fish Lake. Light breezes and friendly gusts only. Never seen the wind move the water in that high mountain lake. It's always been crystal clear until my naked starts making waves. Go figure. I guess I'm just lucky that way. Maybe I traded this windless existence for the curse of campfire smoke following me wherever I move. Doesn't matter how long the smoke blows in my face and leaves everyone else alone. As soon as I move, BAM it's back in my face. God's a big joker around a campfire. Bwaha and lol, God. REALLLY Funny! Every time it happens I just laugh and laugh. No really. The joke's not worn out at all. Seriously.

Mother Rucker was home to me for many, many years. I went through Rotary Wing school there, and thanks to Unca' Sammy, am still employed as a helicopter pilot out here in NoCal.
