COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina Treasurer Thomas Ravenel has been indicted on federal cocaine charges.

Ravenel and another man, Michael L. Miller, have been accused of distributing less than 500 grams of the drug starting in late 2005.

Gov. Mark Sanford has suspended Ravenel immediately based on the serious nature of the charge. The governor said he'll name an interim treasurer soon.

U.S. Attorney Reggie Lloyd said Ravenel bought less than 500 grams of cocaine to share with other people.

Ravenel is chairman for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign.
Less than 500 grams? So it was only like a pound. Oh, OK.

I've never known coke-heads to be so generous with their own stash.

Btter install an overdrive transmission in that spin machine, Rudy -- it was overheating to begin with.

I'm going to love watching Rudy flame out.

Personally, I'd rather see the same thing from that two-faced traitor McCain. He's sold out his home state for years on border control issues purely just to make a name for himself on the national stage.

Awesome.

I was wondering...how did that scorched-earth thing on steroids and baseball work out? Did we get the final bill for McCain's taxpayer-funded publicity stunt yet?

"I'M GOING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!!!!!

What...you don't speak English? Ohhhh, okay. You're excused. If you're suspected of criminal activity, AND you speak Spanish, I'll take you out for lunch when the hearing is over.

What? You didn't come here to talk about the past after getting the subpoena? Well, if you don't want to talk about the past, I guess you're excused, Mr. Maguire. Sorry for the inconvenience."

What a fucking goiter-sporting tard.

They can both eat shit and die. Neither one is worth a bucket of piss.

If I had my way (yea right) Tancredo, Huckabee and Gilmore would be the top polling candidates. I may not agree with them, but at least they would offer a real choice.

Someone like Tancredo could never win. He'd get just absolutely buried with illegal immigrant sob story commercials to the point that they'd have him looking like Stalin or Hitler. It'd be just like what they did to Dukakis in 1988.

I'm betting if you snuck up behind him and screamed, "MAO!!!", he'd piss himself and begin jabbering in Vietnamese.

bwaahahahaha! Rack! Thanks for the good laugh

You're underestimating the anti-illegal backlash.
No, I'm not. In fact I'm part of it.

I've just come to realize that the majority of this country are programmable sheep.

Not really an "Oops." An "Oops" would have been Rudy going in to kiss a baby and catch part of the Moms boob in the process.

This is a full blown Uh-Oh!

Stick a fork in him. That's good - now maybe he can clean up PGH.

I've always thought that Rudy is a decent guy and was a pretty good mayor, but I must admit it's fun watching him learn the hard way that he can't just become president solely on the strenth of a number of good looking clips of him wearing an FDNY hat. While he was a good mayor, his post-911 "skills" were way overrated. Looking reassuring and like I said wearing a fireman or policeman hat is not difficult. It's just that the masses are such saps for leaders in times of crises. The only part that took skill was getting elected mayor in the first place.

And funny as it sounds, over-playing the 9/11 card is a sure loser anyway. Makes a candidate appear to have too much Bush, and the 08 voters will want about as much Bush as Barney Frank (pun intended:) )

9/11 was too long ago. Any chance Rudy had of riding those coattails to the whitehouse are long gone. That'd be like Ike running for Prez in 1960 based on his WWII glory.

Rudy's definitely has a checkered past. Although...he had his first marriage annulled. So fucking what? And that crime against Humanity tops the list of his controversies? What a bunch of bullshit.

I think that Rudy deserves a lot of credit for cleaning up NYC. The end has justified the means in that particular case.

Actually, I think the whole Bernard Kerik connection (double entendre fully intentional) was worse, at least from the standpoint of a public servant.

If you want to throw his personal life into the mix, there was also the issue of telling his second wife via press conference that he wanted a divorce, moving his mistress (now third wife) into Gracie Mansion while still married, etc.

Most New Yorkers weren't all that high on Giuliani on 9/10/01. There's a reason why he didn't run for re-election that year.
