yo Dinsdale, Ottawa Jazz Festival report

Good call on Pink Martini, not a "rockiing" band, some what ecclectic, full horn section and almost orchestralesc (is that a word) compositions, but more than enough vibe and energy to get your groove on to.

Didn't exactly get tixs to get in the venue, but hung outside lounging in the grass, with the old lady, a bottl'o'wine, and a group of french speaking canucks, eh, along the Rideau Canal. Sound still carried well, and they had a big screen set up for us slackers to watch outside the fence.
The Neville Bro's should be pretty damn cool in a couple o'days.
Lot's of other good tunes in bars and boardwalks, open areas around town. I'll try to get around to some pics when I get back home next week.
