Why can't I get a damn Wii? I've gone to about 15 stores in my area, all the Best Buys, some targets, the only Kids'R'US, etc... and none of them have it. Some of them are saying Mid to late July dates for new deliveries. Best Buy seems to have some decent #s coming in but if they get 10 to 20, it is gone by the end of the day and they get it every other week or so. Other stores seem to get less then 10 and are sold within the hour.
Dammit Nintendo, get me my Wii!!!!!!!!!
Don't make me buy a Sony.

It's a gimmick and a suitable gift for grandma to give the kids at Christmas.
Just hook yourself up with an EN8800GTS and be cool.

Why don’t you just STFU.
I sort of agree with Martyred on this one. It depends on what you're looking for in a game system. If you're looking for system that would be fun to bust out at a party and play occasionally, the Wii will serve you well. It's gimmicky and gets old real fast, IMO. If you're looking to play a true next gen system with great technology and an awesome library of games, you get the Xbox 360. If you want the most state of the art system (that has no games), you go with the PS3. I can't honestly advise someone to get a PS3 right now. It has absolutely nothing going for it in the game department. It will eventually but I couldn't justify $599 for a gaming system with no games. That said, I bought it for the Blu-ray player and can justify $599 for that. If you have a TV that's able to do a Blu-ray player justice, the PS3 is a nice option.
I've bought all three. The 360 gets 100% of my gaming time. The PS3 serves as a Blu-ray player and the Wii was given to my brother.

I can't justify $600 for a gaming system only. I like to play but don't have the time and energy or even the desire to play all the time. My computer(s), Wii and PSP serve a much better combination then the PS3 or the Xbox. Most, if not all, good games come out on a computer and half the time I can get my hands on them for free. The PSP is great for when I'm traveling and just need some quick distraction or if I'm on a flight and the Wii will be the awesome party/multi player distraction for when I have some friends over and we are getting drunk or if I'm going back to Blacksburg...and getting drunk, or for that matter if I'm just getting drunk and need something to calibrate my drunkenness with.

Got one at Game Stop a couple of weeks ago. Not sure about Best Buy and the like but there they "bundled" it with two games of your choice. In other words dole out 85 bucks more for games and you can have a Wii. And another controller. And a charger.
Still $475 for all that crap is better than the alternatives.
