Angelina Jolie in ‘Beowulf’ — FIRST LOOK

Image

Here is your first look at Angelina Jolie in Robert Zemeckis’s animated film Beowulf, which is set for a Nov. 17th release.

The LA Times describes the pictured scene: “Angelina Jolie’s lips look even fuller than usual. She’s emerging naked from a pool of dank cave water, rivulets of gold streaming gently down her body.

“Giiiif meee sonnnn,” she coos, in an Old English accent.

Her flaxen hair is braided down her back in a long tail that slowly undulates and slaps the dark pool around her. She continues to purr enticements about making babies as a virtual camera circles 360 degrees panning around her long limbs and waist. Gold dribbles down her inner thighs past her feet, revealing sharp stilettos merged with bestial hooves.

Beowulf is a hyper violent and highly sexualized tale of the warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) who must slay the monster Grendel (Crispin Glover). Later, Grendel’s mother (Jolie) seduces Beowulf so that she can produce a replacement heir that will allow her to reestablish her dominion over the kingdom. (Hence, Giiiif meee sonnn.)”

SEXY!!!!!

Pictured below: Winstone and Hopkins. The film also stars Crispin Glover, John Malkovich and Robin Wright Penn (Sean Penn’s wife).

“People working on the project have described it as ‘Lord of the Rings meets 300′. It’s got nudity, violence and gore..” (Elgar)
(sigh) my thoughts? It's an Angelina Jolie movie. Of course she's
gonna be the personification of Sex.

But she's also gonna attempt to do an accent she can't really
manage, and the story itself -- for all its good parts and great action --
is gonna have a substantial fatal flaw. The film is directed by
Robert Zemeckis. I just can't see Robby doing a Lord of the Rings
or a 300 :( and this is BEOWULF. Maybe I'm stuck in the 80s;
I can see Zemeckis doing dark comedy very well... but not Beowulf.

I hope he surprises.

The drawing looks like it was stolen from Tomb Raider. Her coming
out of the pool was stolen from Apocalypse Now, by way of Xena.
Doesn't exactly bode well. But there's still until November.

Meanwhile, that description of Angelina coming out of the pool,
and the camera panning down to her hooves....... oh jesus, that's hot.
It's so hot, it should have been kept as a surprise for the audience.
As it is, as soon as that video comes out, I'm downloading. I'm not
watching the movie.

It would be intriguing to see how two differently psychotically sensual
actors (Jolie and Crispin Glover) take to the screen together. I'm
getting Jolie kissing her brother at the Awards show vibes, except
this is Glover.

Off tangent, the best Beowulf movie so far is still The 13th Warrior (very
under-rated movie).

PSUFAN is my hero.

Gardner is the only book i remember reading or liking in my AP high english school class (which was stupid).

who's going to play Unferth with the festering boils on his shoulders?

color me skeptical. i'd be more interested if it weren't "star studded". Yet another "hero story" history epic re-write....you go hollywood. all of human history is a subset and preparation of fancy hollywood sex tease and capitalist sheen slithery sweat wonder-all. the past was all about creating the wonder of the present.

maybe i'm wrong.

we read Beowulf a bunch of times in junior high. in Oklahoma public schools, bitch.

we read Faulkner, Tess O', Moby Crank, Camus, Stendahl, Beckett.....hillbillies are we, born to be free.

Gardner was fun.
