Goodbye, Andrew Walter.
A one year veteran minimum deal with no signing bonus means that he knows the starting job will be
wide open and given to the best QB when everything is said and done. If our youngins look good, Pepp will be cut with no ramifications whatsoever. Its a good move that will create heavy competition in one of our most needed areas.
You a Vag Discharge cocksucker now, stay puft? Not to worry, come next season your shit QB (Huard? BUWAHAHAHAHA) and busted ass line will be getting thier stool pushed in every fucking game. Enjoy 1-15, Count Chunkula.

If the Raiders know what's good for them, they'll sit Russell, let Culpepper get killed while the rookie learns.
Being thrown into the fire has killed more young QB's than it's helped. Let the rook sit for awhile.

'duhfan has already discarded 2007 before pre-season has even begun, and is looking forward to 2008.
Fucking priceless.
Keep pushing that trainwreck you call a NFL franchise up a hill, while everyone else sits back and laughs.
And trust me... we're laughing hard.

How eager do you think JaMarcus Culpepper is going to be to "learn" so he can get in the game after the abuse he sees Dante take?
Your plan isn't well thought out.

Man, for a guy who roots for a Raider division rival, you sure don't know Raiderfan very well.
They haven't discarded the '07 season -- they're celebrating winning the freaking Super Bowl already... making this their 23rd straight SB championship.

In general, it's best to sit a rookie QB. The speed of the NFL game, coupled with the complexity of an NFL playbook can fuck a rookies world. I'm all for throwing position players to the wolves, but QB's should sit at least 1 season, IMHO.
As to how soon he'll want to get in after seeing Culpepper get killed? From snap fucking one. He's an athlete. They all think they can do better than the guy in the game. And if he doesn't think like that, Oakland should cut his ass right now.

HH, which part of "let's all pile on the 'duhs" didn't you get? We don't give a fuck what your "IMHO" is. No shit? That's
your IMHO? Fug me, I thought it was somebody else's IMHO.

Hello Pot? KETTLE calling!
It was BECAUSE of YOUR busted ass line that S. Merriman, Jared Allen, Tamba Hali, Shaun Phillips, D.J. Williams, Ian Gold (do I REALLY need to go on?) and other AFC West DEs/LBs fattened up on their sack totals you fucking anal mousehole-reamed fucktool.

See, I though I'd toss some sanity in the mix before you fucking tards starting whipping out the tape measure and busting out your little fucking puds for a typical AFC west cum fest.
And for the record, I can't wait for the "duhs" to get back into shape and whip the fuck out of KC. A Strong Raider team is good for the NFL. But more importantly, it's good for the NFL forum.
KC Tard REALLY wants that title back from Charger fan, don't they?

LJ will be in before Lady Quinn.

That's just plain ridiculous. Culpepper is a humble man who is a servant to the Hindu philosophies espoused by The Mahatma.

RACK R-Jack!
Culpepper's got a stand-up career waiting for him as soon as he finishes being the NEW AND IMPROVED Aaron Brooks.
Oakland has a VERY strong history of getting it's rookies signed with little trouble.
The fact that Russell is not signed is mildly disturbing.
The failure of Russell to sign, and the signing of D. Culpepper is the first DOWN news out of Oakland in a while.
I'll hold off on any substantive comment on this signing until I see what plays out.
There are a LOT of possibilities here.

Word on the street is that Russell is not being difficult, but that AL is near death and nobody knows who's in charge. I heard yesterday that Russell had talk with 4 different raider reps as follow up to a meeting. Sounds like a lot of confusion.

What a load of absolute horseshit, pop.
Brooks wasnt half the QB Daunte is/was.........the comparison is absolutely upsurd.
Oakland has a VERY strong history of getting it's rookies signed with little trouble.
The fact that Russell is not signed is mildly disturbing.
We havent hold a holdout in 10 years, true-but we also havent had the 1st overall pick in any of those drafts, either.
FYI-The main holdup in the negotiations is the fact that Russell's agent wants the money to be
guaranteed even in the event of a suspension or future holdout.
No fucking way thats going to happen. Period.
Patience, Pop-we'll have him locked down in the next few days.
The failure of Russell to sign, and the signing of D. Culpepper is the first DOWN news out of Oakland in a while.
How so?
Daunte is a former pro bowler who is a formerly proven winner on the field and at the very least knows how to hit the open man ('Sup
not Anblew Walter)........he was simply brought in to compete for the starting job that entails nothing more than bridging the gap until our future is ready to take the field. At the absolute worst, we cut him and take no hit to the cap whatsoever with his meager contract and give up nothing. Thats a win/win situation in my book.
The stalled negotiations dont bother me because we arent pressing the kid to start immediately-he'll have plenty of time to learn on the sidelines. Besides, we all know that Al wont get taken behind the woodshed when it comes to contracts, and not dealing with salary cap hell (see: 49ers, Titans, Ravens, ect.) is a testament to that.
RACK him for that.
I'll hold off on any substantive comment on this signing until I see what plays out.
There are a LOT of possibilities here.
Agreed. More competition in camp is always a good thing-and if Al holds onto all 4 QB's going into the season, someone will come a knockin' with draft picks when thier starter goes down. (Which happens every damn year in this league)
It looks like a very smart move thus far.

Hit the open man? By that do you mean... look uncomfortable in the pocket and ultimately get sacked, fumble, throw an INT, throw it into the dirt... or...
multiple answers above?
Culpepper was at his best playing "Minneapolis street ball" on an indoor track. When he throws it up for grabs, who the fuck is gonna come down with it? Culpepper has done absolutely nothing in the two seasons since being separated from Moss. He's horrible. He had little to work with in Miami and definitely has less now.
Hit the open man? Dude... rack the troll attempt, but that's just too over the top.

No, I meant to say Elway. You put Elway on the 9ers teams of the 80s and they win at least 4 Super Bowls as well. Plus, Elway was more durable.

This is pretty much what I believe about Culpepper.
Then again, maybe he
can prove everyone wrong.
I doubt it.
I hope you're right about Russell being signed soon, James.
Missing training camp as a rookie QB is NO way to get on the fast track to NFL stardom.
Like I said, let's wait and see what shakes out in the coming weeks.
I understand the point about it being a 'no-lose' situation to bring Culpepper onboard.
But I just don't see a lot of WIN in it either.
One of the Raider QBs is gonna be headed OUT of Oakland in the near future.

Are you kidding? Montana was Joe freaking cool, whether playing in a meaningless regular season game, or down by 6 with 2:00 to go in the SuperBowl. Remember Elway playing
against Montana in the SuperBowl? He choked so badly you could have popped a lump of coal in his trachea and he would have coughed up a diamond.
Elway was a very good probable HOF QB until Terrell Davis showed up and got him 2 SB wins.

What defensive position did Elway or Montana play that would have allowed them to ever go head to head?
You are aware that football is a team sport? Right?
Give Elway Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, Guy McIntyre, Jerry Rice, Tom Rathman, John Taylor, Brent Jones, Matt Millen, Michael Carter, Charles Haley... and you tell me how that shit would have went down.

Do you think that any of those people were there for all four SB runs?
I am absolutely certain that had you offered Elway a package deal of Jerry Rice, John Taylor and Roger Craig for Mark Jackson, Vance Johnson and Bobby Humphrey he would have jumped on that motherfucker. In fact, had such a deal ever been made, it would have been the worst deal in the history of organized sports ever. PERIOD. It would have been like the Hershel Walker and Rickey Williams trades to the 5th power in terms of idiocy. That is how fucking much better the 9ers were to the Broncos in terms of players not lined up under center.

That would be the point where you would do best just shutting the fuck up. Nobody said shit about "on the field success". A whole lot of people pointed out that Montana was on the better team. Meanwhile, Elway had the better arm, better mobility, was WAY more fucking durable than Brittle Joe and, just like Joe Montana, was able to win the big one when he was surrounded by great supporting players.
You want to step to me? Give me the link to Mark Jackson's Hall of Fame page. Otherwise, don't even begin to tell me that Elway had the kind of players around him that Montana had.
