A few of my picks for the upcoming season.

Here's some of my picks for the '08 CFB season.

1.Notre Dame will suck and will start no better than 2-5. Irish fans will jump off the Charlie Bandwagon by mid-season calling for his firing. I will get a bigger hardon from watching each one of Notre Dame's losses than I will from seeing my wife in the new panties I bought for her the other day.

2.Wisconsin will be exposed. Their 12-1 record last year was done with smoke and mirrors. They were a fraud. If you really watched them play there's no way you actually thought they were any good. They had a pussy schedule and the only quality team they beat was Arkansas and that really wasn't a win but more of a "non loss." Arkansas pounded them into submission in that game but decided they felt bad for Wisconsin so they let them win. I saw them in person and they weren't even half as good as Iowa was last year but we did like Arkansas did and handed them the game. Iowa had far superior talent to them and we sucked ass last year. 9-3 tops, and most likely 8-4 even with a relatively weak schedule.

3.Iowa will be improved but still will be a year away from being really good. But we'll post a record of 9-3 or better basically by default. When we play teams like Northern Illinois, Iowa State, Northwestern, etc......somebody gotta win!!

4.Between LSU, USC, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Louisville and Michigan there will be a minimum of 3 of them going unbeaten.

5.The above chaos will lead to it being announced at the end of the year that there will be a Plus-One game to begin in the 2009 season.

6.Piece of shit Greg Robinson will be fired after Syracuse goes 2-10 this year. Speaking for my fellow Chiefs fans......Fuck you Greg you suck!

7.Joe Tiller's team will underachieve. Yeah, I know......tell you something you don't already know!

8.This will be the year that Mike Stoops turns the corner at Arizona. It won't be a title contending year, but they will continue on their late season surge last year and start making noise in a very tough Pac-10.

9.Jim Harbaugh will drive the media in California nuts by making dumb statement after dumb statement. He might end up being the first Stanford coach the media has ever eaten alive. Bob Bowlsby will then sign him to a 30 year contract extension and call all of the fans up in NoCal "rank amateurs" for criticizing his decision (sorry, only Iowa fans would understand that one).

10.Illinois might have a good recruiting class coming in but they're still going to suck. Why? Because Ron Zook is their coach and Juice Williams is their QB. Zook might be able to beat any coach in the country at arm wrestling but his teams will never be able to beat anyone at football.

Fwiw, the first seven games of ND's schedule, and my predictions with respect to same . . .

Sat, Sep 1 Georgia Tech 3:30 pm W
Sat, Sep 8 at (24) Penn State 6:00 pm L
Sat, Sep 15 at (8) Michigan 3:30 pm L
Sat, Sep 22 Michigan State 3:30 pm W
Sat, Sep 29 at Purdue TBA W
Sat, Oct 6 at UCLA 8:00 pm L
Sat, Oct 13 (20) Boston College 3:30 pm W

What say you to a sig bet, JON?

ND starts season 4-3 or better: I win.
ND starts season 2-5 or worse: you win.
ND starts season 3-4: push.

We'll suck, relatively speaking, but not nearly as badly as you think. And watch out for us in '08.

I think that BC takes you guys. Their QB is going to be pretty good.

Wow. JON seems to think Rome will be built in a day on more than one affair.

And I do love how Iowa does not yet qualify for "really good," yet they'll post a 9-3 record...or better. Homer on.

Good list, but I am not sold on Louisville whatsoever. They certainly have a good QB and talented WR's, but they lost most of their D. Couple that with a trip to Morgantown, one to Lexington and one to Tampa and I don't think they get though the season unscathed.

Good pickup. I was so focused on the ND prediction that one got by me.

What JON seems to forget is that Plus One is easier said than done, and it can't be put in place right away. The major reason why the BCS expanded was to open up a bid for non-BCS teams and keep the BCS out of antitrust court. If you go to Plus One, that will entail adding another game to the BCS to replace the championship game, in addition to working out the details surrounding the Plus One format.

how is notre dame going to stop any of those teams? certainly not by their defense? Does NBC have a, "Notre Dame must win clause"?

Right, because everyone but ND gets better in the off season, no matter who they lose, and ND is the only team that can't see a dramatic impact with a new defensive coordinator.

JON predicting bad things for ND? That shocks me about as much as him being harder because of what 18-22 year old men do on a team he hates, rather than look at his wife.

So you get more aroused watching sweaty men in tight pants than you do seeing your wife in her bloomers? She must be quite a pig.

Ah, yes...fall practice season is not the same without TheJON's incisive commentary.

I'm savoring every paragraph...in between frequent *blink*

Notice how JON tossed out 10 predictions instead of 9, so he could one-up himself.

The Big 10 and Pac 10 offices were talking secession over the Plus One issue...

Will they call it The War of Championship Aggression?

Well, Iowa...... you figure it out.

In Jon's defense, Iowa should go 9-3. Take a look at their sched, their noncon is a freaking joke and they get to skip both Mich and tOSU in-con. Just being OK gets them a 9-3 record.

Good point. Iowa will Notre Dame itself into a decent bowl, and get shallacked 51-3. Should be fun.

No need to go :dins: here.

You can argue that the BCS rules give ND a break. And while I won't go out on a limb and say that ND has the toughest schedule around year in and year out, it hasn't been a terribly weak schedule that's gotten us into the BCS the last few years.

Right now ND is at a cusp. Under Weis, we're now beating the teams we should beat, most of the time anyway. We just haven't made the leap into the very top echelon of teams yet.

(Edit: by my count that's less than 100 words. Happy now?)
