I thought it was odd that both the oklahoma schools and both the alabama schools were among the top 10, 2 states with nothing else to do but college football and 2 states where the 4 schools involved probably blew the whistle on one another for most the infractions

i'll agree with your second premise, but the "nothing to do" argument is pretty tired and generally nonsensical. Colorado made one of these lists at #10, there's a lot "to do" in Colorado. As did Florida State. Washington. is there quantifiable "more to do" in Nebraska than Oklahoma?

take it to the tourism board. you are from California, big fucking deal. suck your own cock in public til your eyes bleed but remember to take Entourage out of the DVD player.

There is plenty to do in central OKC. For those of you who say otherwise your just ignorant or have a preconceived bias.

Bricktown
Redhawks Baseball
Blazers Hockey
2 semi major theme parks.Murrah Memorial
Cowboy and Western Heritage Hall of Fame
Softball Hall of Fame
Omniplex
OKC Zoo (which is one the top 5 in the country)
OU (every major college sport)
NBA (formerly the Hornets and soon to be the Sonics)

That's just off the top of my head.

Not to offend the Bama and Auburn people but... they deserve 1 and 2 more than any other schools.

I agree while there is as little to do in Nebraska as there is in Oklahoma or Alabama there is only 1 major football program so they have nobody in their business trying to blow the whistle on them

A cowboy museum and a few minor league franchises, holy shit, I better speak to my travel agent, there's something Im missing there in fly over country

see where i say "made one of these lists..."; not, "this list". Colorado doesn't make the first list either, that might have been a clue.

Thats a nice list based on cbs perception.

Truth is we are talking about dirty programs.

If the gaytors are not ranked higher than FSU, the poll is bullshit.

i agree the CBS/Freeman list is stupid. Colorado makes the list based on "allegations". how does that work? CU has major infractions but aren't anywhere near the top 10 of total majors.

Quite frankly I don't have much affinity for Oklahoma outside of OU but I'd rather e in OKC than visit LaLa land ever again...

I'm not normally in the business of jumping to SoCalTrjn's defense, but seriously man, trying to argue that Oklahoma City has :bode: in any way, shape or form over the second-largest city in the country is pretty fuckin' laughable. Did you really mention the Softball Hall of Fame???

I guess I don't get that. The basis for the poll was unethical conduct, academic fraud, failure to monitor, and lack of institutional control.

There have a been a few arrests. Cannot deny it and will not defend it. I have yet to see academic fruad, failure to monitor, and lack of institutional control. That genereally means that players are getting "special" perks from boosters like getting paid for working at a car dealership without actually going to work or driving a Lexus for 5 months while you are "making " up your mind. What happend at Tech was a good example of academic fraud. Byron hanspard had a 0.0 GPA and still played.

Texas never cheated, ever.

you guys still have what, 5 major infractions and were bullet-proof in your puppet SWC.

if half the stories Switzer tells about UT recruiters are true, UT is #1 with a bullet.

I am not saying we have never cheated. We got busted in 1987. But OU....Jesus H. Maybe we are better at covering shit up. You guys get busted all the time. And, it is not like we aren't a big time program where people are looking for a reason to investigate us.

Switzer?? Yeah, he has honesty written all over him.

and wasn't a racist asshole. for those of you who don't know, while the rest of the world "got it", UT and the Southwest Conference continued to field all-white teams into the 70's.

Texas has 5 major infractions. is that correct? that puts you in the big leagues of innocence and virtue?

Two of those violations under DKR... the same amount that Switzer was levelled with during his tenure at OU.

First of all, DKR was from Oklahoma....that means he couldn't help being a racist asshole.

Texas has been on probation 3 times. In 1962, 1982 and 1987.

The list for OU violations is long and impressive. There was the academic fruad back in 1972 when OU had to forfeit 9 games for altering a transcript. Then the whole deal came crashing down in 1988. In a six month time frame, there was a shooting and a rape in the athletic dorm on OU's campus, Switzer's house was robbed with the help of one of his athletes, and a QB was caught attempting to sell drugs to an undercover agent. For all of this, they received 3 years probation and a 2 year ban on TV and bowl appearances and a reduction in scholarships from 25 to 18. The fact that guys you recruit want to rob you says a lot.

Those in glass houses should not throw stones

DKR was from Oklahoma. yeah, Hollis, OK.

hilarious that you bring that up, now.

ohh, the 1988 stuff. you know how to hit where it hurts. did you read about it in SI? go back to hornfans.com and get back in the circle jerk. arm getting twitchy, Harv?

Keep crying when the 18 inches of toilet paper you need aren't there.

just keep telling yourself UT is #1 and the model of virtue.

You are funny. Like any Texas fan wouldn't know that DKR went to OU and was from OK. Duh. Where hae I ever said that Texas is a model of Moral Virtue? Where have I defended players who get arrested and act like it is not a big deal? Every time OU gets in trouble with the NCAA there is always an excuse. Players selling drugs out of the Athletic dorm?
