once hailed as the best player in all minor leagues, and had a very good roookie year, ricky while under many issues, flopped and failed as a pitcher, then had many injury setbacks, only to come back as a centerfielder with power and fleet of foot with a cannon for an arm.
all ican say, is rack rick, he could of folded up and went away with the mark wohlers of the world, but came back to play OF, and is leading AAA in homers and one of tops in rbi's. He finally get that 2nd chance to come back to the majors, but not as a Pitcher, but Centerfielder.
no matter if he flops or succeeds, he has gone through a ton to get back here.
go rick

the guy has always been a great athlete
and for a guy who seems smallish, he always had a live bat. even as a pitcher, he looked like he actually belonged at the plate. not up there praying the ball hits his bat.

A nice comeback story with Ankiel on the heels of a depressing story with Spiezio leaving to get help for a drinking problem. Better he do that than become another tragedy like Josh Hancock though.

the pussification of this board is the epitome of no responses to this thread
this story is what baseball is about, whats made baseball the pastime for america.
yet you tards would rather lick each others cocks wether barry did roids, or some faggit pitcher threw behind a hitter.
rick ankiel is baseball, the story is one that baseball was founded about, the story its roots, the story of a guy who took pileons from every paper in the country, to reinvent himself and come back and make it
fail or succeed, rack rick
fuck you assholes who would rather chat about roiders bonds, pudge, sheffield, etc.
a guy has problems and comes back and gives it his all is what we built this shit hole from. and i hope he shoves it up your vaginal canals.
fuck you pussies
by the way, 3-4 2 homers today. 3 for season is 3 games.
go rick. u wear the bats on the birds proudly,

Only 756 more to go and Ankiel can be remembered for something other than his wildness.

<---- Not really.
Nice comeback for Ricky. Pretty remarkable, really. It's hard to imagine that he'll keep this up for long, though. I'll keep an eye on him. Perhaps he'll become my 100th roster move this season...

He's been on a huge roller coaster ride during his career and deserves major props for how he's overcome his pitching woes and had the ability and the nads to do a complete make-over. Hope he has a long ride in the majors.

Was it against the law to garner a perscription ILLEGALY in 2004 for an illegal substance? MLB is a sham. He cheated and now he has been exposed....

Who gives a shit? Ankiel was trying to come back from a very serious career-threatening injury....ANY one of us in his position would've done the same thing given the parameters of the situation, and don't BULLSHIT me otherwise.

I-O-D-O-T-S!!!!!!!
IT'S STILL ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!
Adel? what part of the LAW of our Country don't you understand?
MLB banning HGH in 2005 didn't make it Illegal...it was Illegal Already--->unless perscribed by a Physician.

Rick Ankiel says any drugs he received in 2004 were prescribed by a licensed physician to help him recover from reconstructive elbow surgery.
Florida physician Dr. William Gogan signed Ankiel's prescriptions, providing them through a Palm Beach Gardens clinic called The Health and Rejuvenation Center (THARC), the newspaper reported.
hum, till proven otherwise, looks like he got it legally, you know, a prescription.

Ankiel played the I don't know ANYTHING about the PHARMACY where The HGH came FROM...CARD!
looks like there MIGHT still be some Smoke....maybe "someone" has TRIED to put out the Fire????
we'll SEE.
Nonetheless....is there enough "Brasso" to get the Tarnish off of this Story?

If you're gonna give Ankiel a pass, you better give Bonds and Giambi a pass too. Granted, Bonds' situation is way higher profile and I don't know of any trainers of Ankiel sitting in jail but still, he's another guy who
allegedly did similar things prior to drug testing becoming part of the CBA. I'm not killing anyone here for being "a homer"...I just say be consistent. I don't know your particular take on Bonds but I hope you defend him the same way you're defending Ankiel.

errr... we're not going to lose 100 games this year, damnit!
So at least we have that going for us.
How 'bout them Tigers?
That's about the only thing St. Louis and KC can find middle ground on. Well, half of KC. The other half are miserable Jaypukes with a smattering of K-Staters.
The Tigers from the KC area are representing quite well, too.
