Here's a feel good story for most of us.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man threw his seriously ill wife four stories to her death because he could no longer afford to pay for her medical care, prosecutors said in charging him with second-degree murder.

Is this really much different from "pulling the plug" or going Dr. K on someone? I say make the dude clean up the mess, serve a little community service time and move along.

BTW we'll be needing a KC area clone sign in, just to be sure.

Did she agree to be tossed? Thats the big difference between the man and Dr. K. If she wasn't a veg, then pulling the plug and this have nothing to do with each other.

Here in Oregon, Assisted Suicide is legal.

But, among other requirements, there's one very specific stipulation -- the potential-carcass has to actually be willing.

That's requirement #1. There's others, including having multiple doctors sign off on it too, but the consent part is pretty huge, with a whole boatload of safegaurds to ensure it's the last resort. And I'm fairly certain that "just couldn't afford it" isn't one of the acceptable reasons.

I blame smokers. Their raising the health care costs forced his guy to kill his wife......

Perhaps, babs, but in this case I think the man was venting his pent up regret at having been saddled with such misery. Surely he could have chosen some much gentler passage, some more graceful if not dignified commencement. But no, he wanted her to share his horror of a life pissed away strapped to a nutcase with a rotted uterus! It's Wozzeck, Kansas City style.

Sadly enough, you are correct.

I have no doubt that to most of the losers on this board, this is a feel good story.

You read about something like this and say to yourself, hey, at least I'm not that fucked up.
