The 'Queen of Mean" died today of heart failure at age 87 and was welcomed into the Gates of Hell forthwith.
"We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes."
Wrong. You also can't take $$$ with you.

Speaking of money lust, ....
Were we?
Oh ...
I have an acquantaince, a Raider fan, who, growing up, was extremely embittered by parental neglect due to the fact that mom and dad both chased the green 24/7.
One day he snapped.
Confronted mom in the kitchen.
Screamed her down.
She didn't listen.
So teenage Raiduh fan grappled her to the ground, took a wadded-up ball of money, and forced her to EAT IT.
"DO YOU LOVE MONEY, MOM???"
"DO YOU??"
"....HUH???"
"DO YOU??"
"SAY IT!!!"
"SAY YOU LOVE IT!!!"
"SAY YOU LOVE YOUR MONEY"
"EAT YOUR MONEY!!!"
"EAT IT!!!"
Might have been quiet around the dinner table that evening.

I see no melting going on here. Dancing on her grave, perhaps, but no melting.
87 years old, rich as fuck and poleaxed instantly by a massive coronary=BODE
How so? She can't take it with her.

And you can?
Nobody can.
I'm just pointing out the idiocy of the idea that "he who dies with the most toys wins." Apparently, you still subscribe to that mindset.

Apparently, you're attempting to console yourself in the mistaken belief that it doesn't matter.
The quality of the toys matters. Otherwise, that crazy lady on your street with 20 cats and a house that is nothing more than a Hummel megapolis has some serious bode on you.

Rightttt.....a fairly well off old man once told me that if he died and they found any change in his pockets, there must have been a BIIGGG mistake, since he intended to spend it all.

It doesn't matter when you're dead.
Now you're climbing to the top of the company ladder,
Hope it doesn't take too long.
Can't you see there'll come a day when it won't matter,
come a day when you'll be gone?
Besides, Leona Helmsley was a convicted felon. That gives me bode over her.

But she had control over her own life, which gives her much greater bode.

Boston lyrics? Todd is shitting himself right about now.
Terry? It
does matter, as long as we're still above ground. I'm sorry that you feel so insignificant and useless

Yeah, I picked those out especially for Todd, seeing as we all know how much he loves Boston.
But if you don't like Boston, some more appropriate lyrics, same timeframe, similar genre:
Don't hang on.
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.
It slips away,
And all your money won't another minute buy.
Terry? It does matter, as long as we're still above ground.
I never said it didn't matter, only that it's not what matters most.
If turning into Leona Helmsley were my ticket to wealth, I'd rather stay middle class and myself.
I'm sorry that you feel so insignificant and useless
Didn't say that either, only that her money doesn't do her much good right now.

87 yrs old = long life --> BODE
Rich as fuck = rich as fuck --> BODE
Instant death = no prolonged suffering --> BODE
Yeah, we all are aware that you can't take it with you. But for those of you keeping score at home, there has to be some way to measure the quality of someone's life at the point of departure from it. poptart and the other Christers may be using the modified Stableford scoring system and will accordingly come up with different results. But all (non-spiritual) things considered, living a long, relatively healthy life (even if a few of those years were spent in the hoosegow), being wealthy, and not suffering a painful death are pretty solid indicators that BODE has been achieved. This isn't that tough, Terry.
