Most Overrated and Underrated of the last ten years.....

Criteria is easy....where did they start and where did they end up......while not highly scientific just preseason discussion:

Most overrated

1. Florida State (-63)
2. Tennessee (-58)
3. Washington (-42)
4. Miami (-35)
T5. Ohio State (-34)
T5. Nebraska (-34)
7. Florida (-33 1/2)
8. Michigan (-25)
9. Texas (-24)
10. Clemson (-22)

Underrated

1. Washington St. (+51)
2. Boise State (+48)
3. Oregon (+32 1/2)
4. Arkansas (+26)
5. Wisconsin (+23)
6. Louisville (+20)
7. TCU (+18)
T8. Boston College (+17)
T8. Iowa (+17)
T8. Maryland (+17)

A piece from the article....I laughed.....

"Big 12 teams were the most overrated during the last 10 years. Only three teams included in the survey -- Iowa State, Kansas State and Texas Tech -- improved their overall ranking. Nebraska, Texas and Texas A&M were the league's most overrated teams. "

The most obvious observation I made was that there are much bigger expectations at the bigger schools which make them ranked higher year to year.

Yes, FSU certainly has to be number one on that list. How many times did the P/S polls indicate that the previous season was a bad fluke and that they would return to their dominant past?

I think our talent was not terribly overrated, but the execution and coaching skills that were administered, created a situation that was conducive to failure.

Funny. Of the ten teams on the overrated list, 8 of them still have at least .5 MNCs in the last decade. Guess how many MNCs for the underrateds?

This is absurd.

Michigan has a national title, 5 big ten titles and haven't misses a bowl. They have one of the highest winning percentages of the last 10 years....more info and better said here:

Plus everyone knows Notre Dame owns the title Most Overrated mo matter what year it is.

The article just compares preseason expectations to what they end-up doing. The high expectatations for a Michigan are hard to live up to every year so you are more likely to end-up on the negative side. It isn't like Mich was alone, there are a lot of big names in that overrated category, including my 'skers.

Not to mention that attempting to rank Notre Dame in any survey where "conference titles" and "conference toughness" are considered "objective" categories is a pretty worthless endeavor as well.

Didnt need to see an article to know that trixie. We have been in a slump for a while now, yet the writers kept ranking us high preseason.

Not shocked to see FSU atop the list. Although it's not FSU's fault the voters ranked them higher than they should.
