If I was a distance runner I'd seriously consider staying home...

What's the difference between a good goddamn and a bad goddamn?

It made all the difference to John Steinbeck.

Are they going to show the womens' gymnastics or do I have to wait until '08?

I suspect most won't see the olympics. Not because their air makes LA look good, but, because folks just don't much seem to give a good or a bad god damn anymore about them.

I think there are a few reasons. Alternating the summer/winter games ever 2 years rather than both every four means we are pretty much right around the corner from the next one. Also there is the breakup of the soviet union which brought the US soviet rivalry to an end. Bringing in pro athletes was probably also a bad idea, especially since the commie athletes are now free to go pro, it brings to an end the unfair advantage commie "amateurs" had over our amateurs.

I do have a suggestion to bring viewers back to the TV. We need to mix in some special olympic athletes with the not so special ones. But not wimpy shit like 100M dash or 50 freestyle. I wanna see billy get up there on the 10M platform or in the boxing ring. The winter games offer even better opportunities. 90M ski jump, downhill, bobsled and luge have pay per view written all over them.

There are other sports which would make for some "must see TV" if we let the chromosomally challenged participate. How fukking cool would "special" top fuel drag racing be?

Simple. Build an extra lane, and let Jess take part in all the track events to demonstrate how advanced an athlete who has trained for four years is, compared to a fat lad.

Or allow the mad Irish twat in a kilt to interfere with all events, not just the marathon.
