LJ is back in the fold

Details forthcoming, but Clayton says it's a five-year extension with around $19M guaranteed. Considering he's on the hook for one more season with the current contract, that makes for six years, no?

Good luck seeing the back end of that deal.

Six years from what I heard on the local sports radio, and not just yes, but...

HELL YES!!!

This changes everything.

Five-year extension

$45M
$19M guaranteed

With the way the game is played these days, that looks like a fair shake.

When a back holds out as long as LJ did, it is because he knows he has only one more big money deal left and if he doesn't get it NOW, his idiot head coach will plow him into the ground with another 416 carries behind a substandard offensive line before he can ever sign another contract.

Thats why I love the Pats!! Hold them hostage.......I don't think so!!!

You're certain to disagree with this, Neels, but I don't think LJ held anyone hostage, per se, and I think this deal gets done on any other team, including the Patriots. New England, though, won't make a circus of it.

LJ couldn't have handled this any better, from a PR perspective ... especially with the Priest Holmes circus Carl Peterson welcomed into town in a vain effort to salvage leverage.

It's an extension to a contract that had a year left, and Johnson's rookie deal was grossly undervalued.

The Patriots have let players walk away, because in each situation, they could replace them. Ty Law already had a significant contract and was on the downside turn.

While the situation was closer to LJ's, Branch had an inflated self-of-steam.

If Brady had a year left on his contract, the Pats would have extended him quickly and quietly. Placed in the same situation, Peterson tried to play hardball with little or no leverage.

That's your difference.

This wasn't LJ's holdout as much as it was Peterson's.

Assante Samuel thinks he has leverage. They will let him sit out until week 10 and then guess what they will do. FRANCHISE THE LITTLE SHIT AGAIN!!! Dude could take 7.7 million to play this year but he would rather make a statement. He picked the wrong team to do that with....

PRECISELY why LJ handled it like he did.

And with head coach Norvelous you just went from 14-2 to 8-8.

So you're telling us that Norvelous will go further in the playoffs than Marty did?

Tell me, exactly HOW MANY playoff games has The Pockmarked One won?

That's what I thought. Feel free to STFU now.

Well shoot, the AFC West might as well just cancel the regular season then. I mean, what's the point?

I'll remember these bold predictions.

Your shallow love started when they got a ring. Nobody had any idea that there was a pro football team in New England before that.

I was in Miami for the AFC Championship in 86 dumbass......

I don't see much difference between the two. The only thing that's clear is that they'll walk away with the division again. After that? It's a crapshoot.
I do- Marty's won a LOT more games and division titles that Norv has.

Face it, Norv got handed the keys to a Corvette....and he'll have 4 flat tires and the transmission blown up in it by December.*

*Same applies to you too CowgirlFan. Bum's Son, Norvelous.....one and the same.

It’s not that hard to follow. I think he’s suggesting that by week 12 Dallas will already have 8 wins, and you’ll owe him $10. Do you get this high from huffing Twinkie filling?

It's pretty simple....even for YOU Goobs. I forgot that DF and I had some kind of bet going. I asked DF to elaborate on the terms of said bet. I'm still WAITING for DF to respond. Feel free to go fuck yourself at any time, Goobs- your 2 cents is neither wanted nor appreciated.

Let me hold your hand through this RuPaul Walker Lindh.

You said this shit post about the Boys.

"They will be the greatest trainwreck to watch in the NFL in '07, bar NONE"

I asked you ever so politely to clarify what it is you meant by "trainwreck", and to lay a wager.

You pussed out and clarified you meant that Wade Philips won't get the Boys past .500 ball. I hardly consider 8-8 a trainwreck (underachieve, yes), so I retorted,

"If you think a train wreck is 7-9, than why don't you lay a wager on it fatboy? Any amount is fine with me. Simple enough tubby?"

to which you responded "$10.00 is all I'll go."

So to recap, if the Boys finish 7-9 or worse, you get $10, 8-8 or better and you owe me $10.

get it?
sure?
want to go through it one more time dipshit?

Now go run some freakin laps

You're right, Paul.
LONG season comin'.

QB inexperience working behind a sub-par O-line??

Trouble.

The defense isn't nearly good enough to make up for what will be a woeful offense.
And as senile as Dickless was near the end of his KC run, he still had more offensive imagination in his little pinky than Herm has in his entire being.

I laffed watching the 'highlights' of the trainwreck last night.
Laffed more reading the stat line.

Many more laffs to come ........

LJ will make a difference, but not that much of a difference. KC will be lucky to win 6 games this season. That defense will be good against the likes of the mediocre offenses in the league, but you obviously saw how ineffective they are against an offense like the Saints.

Texans will pwn them in week one.

Funny enough he is saddled with it everynight at bedtime.....

Does it require a saddle to ride that thing?
