Mike Vick has found Jesus...

Just wondered what people would think about that here...

Personally I think it's the best thing for him if it is indeed true and he is sincere about it...

I couldn’t imagine that I could possibly care less.

Time and actions will tell if it's legit or not. I'm reserving my opinions until I see bits of both.

I think he sincerely prays to Jesus that he doesn't get ass fucked in prison and he doesn't lose all his cash. Does that makes him a good Christian? I honestly don't think that the majority of people who suddenly find religion after getting caught, are sincere about it.

BTW, Goobs you cared enough to post, so in my book you're a better Christian than Vick will ever be. Hell, I'm a better Christian than Mike Vick.

I have to agree, TWIS. Funny how people in trouble suddenly find religion.

So are you like 1/16 Christian?

What makes a "good" Christian?

I would have to give Vick props for at least coming clean even if he was forced to as one of his first acts as a Christian. So far he isn't being hypocritical with his actions... limited as they may be.

I'm torn with wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt and judging him. I guess the second one would not make me a "good" Christian.....

Not that I care too much about what people think it means to be a "good" Christian.

Yes, the 'good Christian'/'bad Christian' observation is such a complete misunderstanding.
There is NOBODY good.
There is none righteous, all of our 'righteousness' is as filthy rags, etc, etc .....

It is for this very reason Christ had to come.
And that by taking him we become holy and blameless in God's sight.

We see a world entirely covered in darkness, mayhem, disaster, sickness, perversion, trouble, war, .... and on and on ... - Isaiah 60:1-3
People are absolutely trapped in a cursed existence - Genesis 3: 16-19
They will fail, and there is no way out.

If Vick took the way out, tremendous.

Everybody MUST take this way out.

Since when did you start believing in Heaven and Hell?

Did you have a spiritual revelation like Mr Vick?

I believe Mr. Vick had a financial revelation.

Props.

I'll keep all opinions on the legitimacy of his new found faith until I see a little more from him. How responsible will he be with regards to his situation, for starters. Buck passing will not be a good sign for him. I agree with Poptart. I pray his new faith is the real deal.

What's the problem with Vick's epiphany?

Christianity is supposed to be sought when you have trouble, right? Or does faith have to be on layaway?

I don't think people seek only in times of trouble. Though when you do mess up you tend to look around you for options you might have been too distracted to see while you were getting into trouble...

Have a nice day.
Now THAT would make one heck of a bumpersticker.

not really.... It's too long to read at a glance....

But stupid people put stupid things on their cars so there is a chance for it...

You're right, PSU.
Many - maybe most - folks come to Christ when their abject failure, and the failure of everything around them, is clear before their eyes.

Without fail, everybody comes to that point in their life.
Our life is a curse, and there is one who deceives the whole world - Revelation 12:9.

I've seen it so clearly.

I didn't even know he'd been reported as missing. 'Cept from that whole empty tomb thingy.

Could someone ask him where he found him? I thought the dood was dead?
