Going to be in Vegas for the opening weekend, looking to be placing a nice 3 team parlay bet at the sports book.

Any insight you guys can provide will be much appreciated. Any locks out there on opening day that I should put some cash on? I figure with all the experts we have on this board, I should make some money on Saturday!

According to his friends, JON is a college football expert. If he takes your bait, you should have a nice ten team parlay ready for Saturday morning.

Sure. Parlays are for suckers and fools.

There you go. No charge.

Rack that. If anything, play O/U on college games. Sure, they don't pay as well, but they are much easier to pick than Parlays.

Agreed that parlays suck.

But for starters Okie St at Georigia, and Georgia favored by 6 1/2, no way Okie st hangs with that.

Whatever. Oklahoma St. has one of the better QBs in the nation in Bobbie Reid. Ok St will not be a guaranteed W for OU, A&M and UT this year so that theory that Georgia will roll is completely inaccurate

As interesting as this game looks on paper, and given how OSU is said to have improved a lot (especially on defense), I agree. I can't see them hanging with the 'dawgs in that zoo. We'll see. This is definitely on my watch list in Week 1.

ill look for a couple, but Mizzou-5 is my ***** play of season. And this is no homer pick, its too easy, the juice aint loose, hes mediocre, they cant keep up with mus offense, very few can, it could get real ugly.

dont worry, ill be drunk in stands with a hundy or 2 on Mizzou myself. i share the wealth!

I'd almost bet the house on Misery to not only cover but win pretty big over Illinois. -5 at home is the lock of the week.

I was going by what 88 posted ont he pick'em lines. He has Mizzou at home. I didn't check. I'd still take them at -5.

Against a Ron Zook-coached team? That's crazy talk.

This is Gary Pinkel we're talking about you know, but even still, Illinois has been horrid under Zook.

My lock would have to be Auburn covering against KSU. I know it's 13.5 points, but Auburn's D is good and KSU will be missing their big MVP from last year (in pros now), Yamon Figurs, who almost single handedly gave them victories. He had two rushing TDs on 3 attempts. He had two punt return TDs while averaging 14.7 per catch. In their few wins, he was their spark. A lot of their success last year can be directly attributed to trickery and special teams. They beat Texas on a combination of luck (McCoy getting knocked out), trickery, defense and surprise. Kansas and Rutgers quickly saw that all KSU had to offer was sweeps to the outside (see bad O'line). The result was Josh Freeman personally contributing 10 turnovers in their last two games.

This year, they'll have a worse line, a worse defense (see few D linemen, which is why they had to switch to 3-4), a pig-headed QB, an inexperienced staff (half ran off to better or similar work than to work for the Manatee again). It doesn't look good in my opinion...

I'm in a contest where we put up $100 and pick 2 games a week, and auburn is my lock. well 2nd lock, I have NC State and giving the 8 or whatever it is to some directional florida team

Agreed on Auburn putting the Hurt on KSU tonight.
I can't see the Mildcats getting within 20.

no offense, i think kst is an average team, but who is auburn going to beat by 20???? they arent that type of team. defense team that wins ugly.

they try to run it down your throat, thus a low scoring game and very possible back door cover.

oh yeah, the chief

take that Mizzou -5 money and enjoy your vegas trip!

u want a lock, i gave it to you. dont give a shit if stinkel tried to piss it away, they covered, thats all that matters when you have cash!

ps i hope the officiating crew is suspended, 3 blatant no calls. the 4th down pass illinois hit was 8 seconds after the play clock ran out. then it happened yet again.

oh yeah, anyone getting tired of the ref 50 yards away calling pass interference when hes behind the play and cant see what happened? nfl is the worst with that!

man, too much drinkie drinkie!!!

Adel,

I told Chief the same thing about Mizzou. While it was closer than we expected, Mizzou covered. Chief and I placed a 100 to win 90 bet and made out ok.

I'll be in Vegas in early October. I'll return the favor to Chief. To top it off, I won a Hold'em tourney today as well.

Good times when CFB season rolls around.

Thanks for the help man. I got that game for Frisco and I and i also hit on WV and Da U. Stayed off the parlay and wouldn't you know know it, my buddy lays down a four team parlay for 500 big ones. Crazy.

Just got home, got a shower and have 48 minutes until FSU/Clemson in the worst haze of my life. Go Noles!

BTW...The Treasure Island sports book is off the hook. Very comfortable chairs, a lot of TV's and we were double fisting for 12 hours. Waitresses were cool as fuck and they came around often. Highly recommend it, as many other sports books charge you for drinks or only give you a drink ticket for a 50 dollar bet.
