It sounds like the union was/is splitting with the unnamed players proposing this 45 mil cap that suddenly went ghost on everybody. What it really boils down to is that the players union has overplayed thier hand and is now without any negotiation moves or strategy.

Which is a good think in the end, if the union is made to realize the economics of a 2nd tier sport. I say that as a fan too.

This should send a red flag to the union as well, the Mighty Sucks sold for $65 million, a team in the second largest media market in the country.

They sold for $65 million? That's bullshit, it probably sold for a lot more, and teams like the Schucks can still afford to live without a cap.

Sincerely,

Otis

They sold for $65 million? That's bullshit, it probably sold for a lot more, and teams like the Schucks should be contracted.

FTFY Hap.

And just because they're in the 2nd largest media market in the USA, that really doesn't mean shit.

Sin,

Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Raiders.

Rams left because Georgia the Showgirl gutted the team, got an out clause when the Pond was built and moved to St. Louis.

Raiders left because Al Davis is a greedy bastard who took the easy money Oakland was throwing his way, plus the Coliseum NEVER made good on their promises to build luxury boxes.

Nice try Otis. Nobody said the NHL owners were saints, but they are the lesser of the two evils.

I honestly wouldn't mind watching that for a month or two as replacement players. At least you know they would feel a sense of pride towards the game of hockey and the jersey they would be wearing.

As a side note, I guess the NHLPA had their members drink the Koolaid at the meeting yesterday. I can just picture members asking questions about why Goodenow accepted a cap and maybe they should accept one, and Bald Bob yelling 'Shut up and drink!!!'
