Chad Johnson = HoF dumbfuck

Maybe you heard reports about CJ saying he was going to do something special this year when he scored a TD, penalty be damned. He said something to the effect that "I promise you you're going to laugh for a lifetime".

Alrighty then, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he's got planned for his EZ celebration.

So he scores a TD tonite and then puts on some cheesy looking jacket saying he's going to be in the HoF. Oh really, Chad? I musta' missed the memo showing your credentials, and after that display of dumbfuckery, I doubt you're going to get much sympathy from many voters. Oh, and I notice that you ran to the sidelines to perform this moronic act, probably because Marvin Lewis told you he'd have your ass on a platter if you cost the team an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Ya' know, I used to think those endzone celebrations of his were mildly amusing, maybe even funny. It seemed more an effort at entertaining the spectators than blowing up his own image.

But tonights antics showed he's just another "look at ME, it's all about ME" foolish athlete. What a dumbass. I hope he gets blown up by Ed Reed out there tonight.

Considering what Chad did after his TD, the thread title is very appropriate.

He's scored more touchdowns this season than the entire team that you root for. I'd let Chad be Chad and you worry about how your team can only muster three points against the Texans.

Oh, because these two things have much to do with one another, right?

Great take, dumbass.

I think I'll just let Fu be Fu.

You mean a Beaver is making a complete jackass out of himself?

A dude who comes from a CFB team that thinks spitting on opposing fans is ubercool is acting less than classy?

Wow, I'm not sure what to make of this. These are shocking revelations.

Horrible, horrible weekend for Beavers... RACK!

I must reluctantly agree with that take.

I laughed.

For some reason, I don't mind Ocho Cinco antics at all.

You didn't laugh, Wags, but you were looking forward to it. Can't damn him after the fact just because it didn't jibe with your sense of humor.

He's a professional athlete, not a professional comedian. He's bound to whiff every now and then.

More Chad and fewer uptight fans is a good thing.

Loosen up, big man.

At what? The absurdity of nominating himself to the HoF? Otis freaking Taylor isn't in the HoF.

Who you calling uptight?

I AM NOT UPTIGHT!

But yeah, I was disappointed....

it could of been funny, if it hadnt taken so long for him to finally get the fuckin jacket on. christ, they kicked the extra point, went to commercials, did the halftime higlights and then he put the jacket on!

I'm down with Ocho Cinco's antics for one reason- he DOES NOT do them to show up his opponents. He makes it perfectly clear that he's just out to have fun and it shows.

In conclusion...

Chiefs suck.
Chad Johnson doesn't.
You're a bitter douche.
Noted.

I see now you're stealing Mike Tirico's takes.

Rack Goodell for pushing Johnson's bullshit to the sidelines. Unrack the clowns at ESPN for jocking that bullshit.

When it gets to the point where he's "game planning" his TD celebrations, I start to loose interest. Ed Reed's celebration was far cooler.

It's harmless fun.

Nobody says you have to laugh at it, but the NFL was wrong to kill the Fun Bunch, and they'd be wrong to harness Johnson's enthusiasm for the game, now.

Go take your Geritol and dream about days when nickel Cokes were all the rage, Mace.

Well, they did. And it doesn't bother me a damn bit. He can still spike the ball after a TD and high five his teammates. He can even do his Riverdance celebration. Is it asking too much for the NFL to have fewer props than Carrot Top?

They pushed it to the sidelines, right alongside the Icky Shuffle.

I can understand getting the celebrations out of the end zone, but seriously ... where's the harm in a few sideline antics?

As for Wags, tell me you didn't sport wood a few years back every time #80 tried to hump the goalpost after a score.

I loved that little POS.

I didn't have a problem with the "sideline antics" as much as I had a problem with the assholes at ESPN damn near missing the extra point in an effort to try to make sure Johnson's sideline foolishness was aired in real time. Seriously, I would have been OK with a replay.

I'll meet you halfway on that one, although it's all about the casual fan with ESPN.

#80 :?

Lake Dawson?

No, I've always been of the opinion that you just hand the ball to the referee, and get the fuck off the field. You did your job, period.

My bad.

Who gives a flying fuck. Chad Johnson will always be Chad Johson. I don't care about the dances, the hoodie, the different celebrations after sacks....I just want to see football.

Only problem with the celebration was this fundamental flaw, never over-promise and then under-deliver.

Mace ... what's wrong with a little unbridled enthusiasm on the sidelines? I'll give you the ridiculous sack dances and first down clown struts, but Johnson's goofy TD schtick just strikes me as good natured fun ... nothing more, nothing less.

On another note, how sweet was LT's "sprinkler flip" yesterday?

ps ... you forgot to set your milk bottles out last week

You should ask Billy Mumphrey what's wrong with a little unbridled enthusiasm.

So, you don't dislike Johnson so much for playing the court jester role as you do ESPN for overhyping it to the extent it takes away from the gamecast.

Fair enough.

There's a difference between unbridled enthusiasm and showboating. What CJ did tonight was the latter, and it's doubtful the Ravens appreciated it one bit. He's giving teams additional motivation for future encounters, as if they needed any.

You may think it's all in fun, but wait until they go to B-More. The bad part is that it may not be Chad who pays for the transgression. He's on an island with his boy McCallister. You won't see that puss going across the middle.

Fuck the Bungles anyway. I'll forever hate those fucks for what happened last year in the season opener at Arrowhead.

Wags, there's a difference between your Dungeons and Dragons viewpoint as a fan, and that of the NFL fraternity.

I seriously doubt they'll have that game circled because Chad tried to make a funny with a gold coat.

You whiffed on this one.
