Greenspan: "Of course it was the oil"

And why...is this vile little troll given such credence? Of course he's just telling the truth (a lapse of vanity in his waning Look At Me auto-biography), but his essential fatal certitude--which drove this whole nightmare into our reality--is the plain badge of the modern criminal (capital C, of course)

So, A-bitch, was it just oil? Are we really, as implied by Greenspan (his real name), just avaricious interests?

It's hard to differentiate you from Tardowned. Both of you are board parasites and offer nothing. Just admit you hate Jews and let out your hatred. I hate all of you muslim pieces of shit.

The subject is oil, bitch, and our open aggression as admitted as our plain interest by this Guru of finance, Alan Greenspan. Are you ready to admit as much?

Greenspan is a political/military expert now, huh?
OK, let's turd, lets look at a few INDISPUTABLE facts.
a. Saddam was floating on a big ole puddle of earl.
2. Saddam had repeatedly tried to steal his neighbors' big puddles.
d. Saddam had, using the riches from this puddle, built a very large military in the past. Fortunately it was poorly trained, poorly motivated and made from Russian junk. Which made it a bit easier to scrap.
4rd. He played a shell game with weapons inspectors for over a decade after surrendering.
(Why we let him surrender and stay in power is another story. I thought it was a blunder then. Now it looks like a huge fukkking blunder. What would we have done if Hitler said 'no mas' after we crossed the rhine?)
IX. Our entire fukking civilization uses oil. It is the lifeblood of our economy. There is a pretty fair chance that oil generated the electricity that allowed you to post your shit take. (Maybe we should pull out?)
g. The entire Arab world is a festering shithole politically. It needs unfukking sooner or later.
So given all the FACTS, I will have to admit, we are there because oil is there. If they were still roaming the desert and shagging their camels, no one would care. But, that is not the way it is.
It would be nice if we could run everything off of windmills, but, at this time we can't. So it is in our national interest to see to it that the oil spigot stays open.
Care to point out any errors? If not, explain to me how what we are doing is not right.
So thank you, Mr Greenspan for stating the obvious.
And thank you, let's turd, for doing such a stand up job of being the board bitch.

The oil quote was taken out of context.

Exactly the point. Mr. Anrdea Mitchell barely knows anything about economics. When he had the chance, he bumped interest rates up at least two times too many and then kept them too high for over a year. Only after 9/11 did he reluctantly permit rates to drop.
He, like you, should never pass up an opportunity to shut the fuck up.

They do if I say they do.
I haven't read the book, but supposedly the quote came from a place where Greenie was making the point that it was a good thing that we took out Saddam because he posed an imminent threat to control over the Persian Gulf and the Straight of Hormuz. It had nothing to do with Iraq's oil but everything to do with his ability to put a chokehold on the world's supply. And Greenie agreed that it was a good thing that Saddam was removed.

The problem with S-holics standard apology for invading Iraq is that in fact Saddam posed no danger to anyone. He was perfectly willing to sell us all the oil we wanted. Israel, of course, felt threatened, but then they feel threatened by EVERYONE. They want EVERY Arab nation to be attacked and brought under World Bank Third World status. Most of the inane racists here agree. But it doesn't change the fact that invading Iraq was a horrible catastrophe in every respect, that Greenspan's policies and analysis have proven ass-backwards, and that indeed he's trying to weasel out of his proper legacy as a corporate toadying whore.

I believe that should properly be "toadying corporate whore".
carry on

No, Mikey, "toadying" is his essential adjective. Perhaps an adverb, "corporately" better gives this sense.
Babs, your Limpdick rendering of Saddam's career is shameless. You omit that Donald Rumsfeld, as point man for the very Bush Clan malignancy under discussion, openly supported Saddam in his war with Iran. Similarly neglected is the fact of America's "greenlight" to Saddam's subsequent invasion of Kuwait delivered by our ambassador to Iraq, Ms. Gillespie. Most egregious, however, in your Victor Hanson whack-off session, is the continued use of "the intelligence we had at the time" as an excuse for being completely clueless as to Saddam's actual military capabilities, weapons, plans--everything was misinterpreted. And yet because "everyone thought so" it's in hind sight the best we could've done. This grotesque sleight of hand overlooks that the so-called "intelligence" was nothing more than PNAC stooges like Chalabi providing service like Jeff Gannon--and these outright fabrications duly parroted by plants and puppets saturating the mainstream media. Like Judith Miller, Novak, Safire, Friedman, etc.
That the invasion--the heinous crime that it is--is an unmitigated disaster is clear. So too your mealy bunkercon hysteria version of history.

What evidence? Have you considered what they "all" were relying on? Chalabi and other pets of PNAC.
