The fans and media in Chicago were killing him long enough...a change had to be made. Griese isn't the ultimate solution for that team but he should at least give them a better chance to win games. At 1-2 and in a terrible NFC...the Bears can still be a major factor and they might've saved their season by making this move now. Grossman isn't going to win you a Super Bowl no matter how good that defense is...we saw that in this past Super Bowl.

The Lions shouldn't give the Bears too many problems this weekend in spite of Brown being done for the year and with Harris, Vasher and Tillman all reportedly out for the game. They can't run the football to save their lives. With a banged up o-line and their best blocking tight end, Dan Campbell out...the Bears edge rushers will tee off and pound on Kitna and the fact the Bears will start second string corners on Sunday won't matter either. The Eagles were playing second string guys last week in the secondary and gave up 400+ yards through the air but they gave up only 21 points and still won handedly. Kitna will put up his typical empty yards and they won't put up more than 40 yards on the ground and the Lions will lose by 10-14 points.

Griese will be efficient enough to exploit the horrid Detroit back seven like McNabb did last week. Last week was a wake up call to all LionFans that they beat two inferior teams to get to 2-0 while they themselves are inferior to almost 2/3 of the NFL. Of course you'll look respectable against bad teams but when you play a decent team...not necessarily a great team like New England or Indianapolis...you'll fall back to earth quickly. This is still a bad football team with a sexy passing attack.

Griese couldn't beat out Joey Fucking Harrington in Miami. The Bears will be starting Kyle Orton by week 7.

Rex has been treated like a damn king during his time in Chicago. If he was black, he would've been chained, stoned, beaten, raped, and possibly murdered by now.

I doubt it.

The last time Griese was a starter he played pretty well for Gruden and Tampa Bay. My guess is Gruden would have rather had Griese than any of the other QB's on that roster before they finally picked up of Garcia. If Griese can limit his mistakes, I think he can have success with the amount of talent Chicago has on offense.

Same could have been said for any QB, Grossman included.

Obviously Grossman couldn't limit his mistakes. Or do you need further explanation for 1 TD and 6 picks?
Sorry, guess my response should have been the usual "Sin, MA" or did you think that commentary was overly insightful?

Actually, mine was. That little "If" word.

If Griese can limit his mistakes, I think he can have success with the amount of talent Chicago has on offense.

In any case, I don't give a flying fuck eithr way who is QB. Playing the "if" game when breaking down a person or game is for the ESPN fuckstains so they can straddle the fence. Why not just say if the Bears can score more than their opponnts, they will win?

Best bet? Continue on the road to suckitude and draft Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm. Not completely out of the realm of possibilities considering their horrid offense and the injuries to the defense.

For those that speak of a talented Bears offense, can you please give me some reason as to why you make this claim?

Outside of Mushin, who do they have that has proven themself? The offense is a beneficiary of the outstanding defense and special teams. They, by no means, have a talented offense.

Griese never competed against Harrington in Miami, you farging moron. Griese was on Miami four fucking years ago. Try to keep up.
My bad for conflating Jay Fiedler and Joey Harrington.

The point remains the same. Griese is washed up.

Helluva fourth quarter for the Lions today...scored 5 TDs to come from behind twice and win. They were able to get the lead early in the fourth at 17-13 and then give up a Hester KO return for TD on the ensuing kickoff. To their credit, they responded with 2 more TDs and didn't look back. I still don't know what this team is but they're 3-1 and have a 2-game cushion on the Vikings and Bears, whom they've both beaten so far. The Vikings are horrid and clearly are the worst team in the division and the Bears are still a threat in my mind...they just were depleted by injuries today. The Packers are for real but they won't face the Lions until Week 12. A lot can happen between now and then...both the Lions and the Packers can either continue their solid play or they can both fall back to earth and Chicago can get back in the hunt for the division. I think a lot of teams can beat the Bears when their entire secondary and their second best LB is out of the lineup and with how hot and cold Griese was today. Also, the Bears running game and offensive line is mediocre at best. Griese was outplayed today by Kitna...that ultimately was the difference in this game.
