Dude suffered a Grade 3 concussion yesterday....with relatively young kids, a fat bank account, and a network analyst gig waiting for him, it's time to shut it down. You've had an above average career Trent, but for the love of God you really should call it a career now.

He should be done. How ironic that he got knocked out by his own cheap shot. I guess that's what you get for going at a guy's knees. Fuck him. He was the most overrated QB of the past 10 years. The only reason he has a Super Bowl ring is because Mr Brenda Warner was able to free up some time from his Arena League commitments to bail his sorry ass out. In his entire career he has never failed to under produce relative to the talent around him.

Was a legal block Bri, questionable but not cheap. Guess he paid the price nevertheless...

I don't give a fuck how legal it was. Any time you go for a guy's knees, you're cheap shotting. I know it happens all the time with players from ALL 32 teams, but that doesn't make it any less cheap.

Hey dumbshit, I'm pretty sure that Trent wasn't TRYING to hit the guy in his knees. To sit there and act like he did is retarded at best. Besides, after that ignorant fuck stood up over Trent after the play was over and basically CELEBRATED his injury validates the way Trent ended up blocking him. Fuck that prick.

No, retarded is posting on the subject without knowing what the fuck you're talking about.

Looked to me like he was giving Trent a piece of his mind. I'm sure if it had been Derrick Thomas you would be in here defending him.

I thought it was a beautiful block, put that big fucker right on his ass, it did.
Gotta' give credit to Trent for having the stones to even try that shit in the first place. He was just trying to help his team win a game, not cheap shot another player.
Unfortunately for him, those "stones" are also what's rattling around inside his skull right now.
Time to hang 'em up.

Trent Green still plays?
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
He was done years ago, and yes getting another crack in his dome was predictable.
It's stupid that he even came back this season, even as sorry as the Chiefs are, they didn't want to take the chance of having the first player to be killed on an NFL field.
Hopefully he has total recall.

And it was a great block. Just in case you were wondering, that is perfectly legal. Maybe not very bright, but certainly kosher.
I never said it wasn't legal. In fact I specifically said that it WAS legal. That doesn't make it any less cheap.

Johnson wasn't paying attention.
It's his own fault for being chopped down.
If Green had tried to go up higher on him he would have been steamrolled.
So he went low.
Legit block.
Green should have retired when he left KC.
And Bri's assessment of his career is not far off the mark.
In KC he played behind a stellar O-line, always had a stud RB, and was in a QB-friendly offensive system.
Tough guy, smart guy, good guy ..... but never a GREAT player.

you're joking right? defensive players are the first ones to take cheap shots when turnovers occur and players aren't aware who's around them.
give it a rest.

Johnson was the wussy in this case.
At least Trent didn't hurt his head wrecking on a motorcycle with no helmet on.

Going headfirst into a 300 lb D lineman is ALMOST as stupid as riding without a helmet.
BTW: This just in from PFT...
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Texans defensive tackle Travis Johnson will not be fined for taunting an unconscious Trent Green after the Dolphin's quarterback ran his head into Johnson's knee.
Per Schefter, NFL director of football operations Gene Washington decided that a penalty for Johnson was appropriate, but that a fine was not necessary.
But now we're confused. The league's 2005 fine schedule includes $7,500 . . . for taunting. So if a guy is taunting within the confines of getting flagged, he also should be taunting within the confines of getting fined. Right?
The best/only example we can think of in this regard is Randy Moss from a 2001 MNF game against the Giants. The league nailed Moss for $10,000 after he did a twirl/strut thing into the end zone.
So we can only assume that the league realized that Johnson's underlying point was/is valid. In certain circumstances, blocks below the waist are bad form -- and guys who goes bonkos when on the wrong side of such maneuvers shouldn't necessarily be fined for doing so.

I'm not so sure about that, pops. Yes, Johson has 100 pounds on Green, but usually when a guy is not paying attention, you can use your leverage by running at just the right angle to hit a guy of Johnson's physique above the waist and put him on his ass. There was no need for Green to go low, but then again quarterbacks are not paid to block.
What would have the conversation been if Johnson never got up? That block could have potentially tore every ligament in Johnson's knee and he also could have suffered a severe neck injury if he landed on his head wrong. Johnson was very lucky to come out of that unscaithed. Sure, Johnson's reaction was bad, but I seriously don't see anything wrong with his postgame comments. Johnson's career could have ended on that play and he was pissed about it. Dude had every right to go off.

Blocking is just like real estate...it's all about location, location, location.
Green rolling up in a ball on the ground to set up an obstacle for a Texan defender isn't illegal. Had he hit Johnson above the knees, he probably doesn't flip head over heels and avoids injury more than likely...not that he got hurt by this hit anyways. Johnson yelling at Green wasn't a fineable offense but it was bad sportsmanship. Green wasn't looking to hurt Johnson...it was just an unfortunate collision that leaves Green's future in football very much in doubt.

I know. For Eric Steinbach to push a guy into his own teammate's knees was unforgivable. I don't know how the fucker lives with himself.
