Stephen McGee after the 35-7 ass kicking by taco tceh wrote:We were just one play away all day
Who is fired first? Fran or Callahan?
A&M may be able to get away from having to pay the buyout with VIPgate and all. Fran may get nothing.

Oh, and quote #2.
Coach Fran when asked how to get momentum back heading into the tunnel down 21-7 at the half wrote:"Well, we just gotta keep doing what we're doing."

I'd say the guy that got destroyed by the Okie State team ATM scabdicked by would be gone first. But BC didn't sell inside-dope that was likely used for gambling. I think loser of Saturday's Hotseat Bowl is probably gone at season's end and the winner keeps one foot out of the grave.

I think Doba will finish the season but after that dude is gone.
So who do you think the candidates for this job will be?
I'm thinking Stoops is gone a Zona as-well. Wish he'd consider coming to Neb next year.

Stoops leading the skers? Not sure you want brad roaming your sideline.
Fags at texags are already dropping names Spurrier and Tubberville. Briles also.

If an AD is named soon at Nebraska, Callahan... no doubt in my mind. You will win this weekend because unlike my team, Fran's team hasn't given up on him yet.

I would want Mike as a DC not the HC. He doesn't appear to have the temperament to be HC.

To early to tell, but it's hell of funny reading all names thrown out over the message board. My favorite so far: Bill Cower
Chris Peterson's name is coming up a lot, but even I have to admit that BSU to Wazzu right now is not much more than a lateral move, so I doubt it.
A lot of people dismissed it early, myself included, but THE RETURN is starting to gain a lot of momentem:
For it to happen, Doba will have to be dealt with honorably, because he was Price's guy. Some suspect a return to his former position of D-Coordinator (A big NO from me) or as a consultant/advisor (better idea).

I've seen the Price rumor here before. I could see it happening. But how many years does he have left in him? Would this be long-term?

Chris Peterson is a hell of a coach, wouldn't mind him at Neb, you guys could always feel him out.
How about June Jones from Hawaii or Paul Johnson from Navy?

That'd certainly make things interesting...

Believe the Heupel wrote:Mike Stoops has been quoted in the past that he doesn't want to coach in the same conference as his brother. I realize that that's worth not a lot, but he HAS said it. Leach would not last at Nebraska at all as a head coach-he's perfect for Tech, but Nebraska's alums would drive him batshit and vice versa.
I heard that about Mike before, thus I think getting Mike would likely be wishful thinking. But a guy can always dream. I see Mike going to either Iowa or maybe LSU once Bo leaves. Net-rumor has Neb targeting Bo and I still think Bo would be a good candidate for the ATM job. Les and Bob may not have been best-buds but LSU is a hell of a job and a quick way to get back in to the high-stakes games again.

Let me throw out a name for HuskerFan. Turner Gill.
He's one of your own. He's getting head coaching experience, and he's doing a bang-up job right now.
Now, I know most of you would hardly call 3-4 a bang-up job, but he's at Buffalo, for Chrissakes. A little background comparison is in order. Buffalo is 3-4 this year. Before Gill got there, a Buffalo player might reasonably expect to see 3 wins in the course of his entire career, not 3 wins in little more than half a season.
Hell, they even have a real viable shot at beating Syracuse this week. Granted, the current status of Syracuse's program ('sup, Greg Robinson) has something to do with that. But this was an unthinkable possibility even as recently as 2-3 years ago.
OTOH, going from Buffalo to Nebraska is a helluva jump, and I'm not entirely certain that Gill would be ready to make it just yet.

The Huskers should throw everything they have at Paul Johnson. That dude is one helluva coach, and he isn't just option.

Gill has done as much with Buffalo as could possibly be expected. But because it is Buffalo Gill gets some love but probably not enough to get the job. But if they can finish strong in the MAC who knows what TO will do.
