Michigan v. Sparty (on ABC) OSU get screwed....

The Suckeyes play Wisky at noon on the Big Ten Network.
God I hate the BTN. Also, is Michigan vs MSU a more interesting game for ABC than OSU v Wisky? I thought for sure that Michigan's game this weekend was going to end up on the BTN.

Major surprise...local radio was spazzing out last week that this game was bound for BTN. Cool deal that I don't have to go out somewhere to watch the game.

Every team has to have one conference game on BTN, I thought BTN would have picked up tOSU v NW but ABC got that one..ABC chose tOSU v ILL and tOSU v Michigan...
so now I have to go somewhere...FUCK YOU DELANEY

Great. Now I"ll have to listen to one of the typical ABC hack announcers. I feel VERY inconvenienced by this.

This week's entire TV "offing" (sup G. Costanza) of games is ridiculous.
ASU vs. ORE on PPV? Are you fucking kidding?
I understand that FSN has a contract with both the Big 12 and the PAC, but ... um, hello? It's No. 4 vs. No. 5, you goddamned morons.
We're getting Mizzou-CU, here, in HD. Gee, thanks for that. Jackasses.
BlindRef is right on. Wis-tOSU. On the "Big 10 network." Excellent job, asshats.
And MSU-Mich on ABC? (in Oklahoma, naturally, we're getting the "compelling" matchup of Texas-OSU).
Because of this horseshit, mark it down: Oregon will beat ASU, and Wisconsin will beat tOSU. Btw, Texas is going to beat the ever-living FUCK out of OSU. Mark that shit down, too.
In fact, I will make my picks based upon this idiocy. ESPN is going to have a field day, come 1 a.m. CDT, this Sunday.

Not this DirecTV customer. I've been able to watch every IU game this year thanks to the BTN. Don't be mad at the network, be mad at the cable companies that won't offer it. Or take advantage of the free market economy we live in and switch.

Rack Shine. Bitch at Comcast, not the BTN. Comast wants to put the BTN on a digital sports tier anyway.

I'm with you. It's comcast trying to overcharge customers for the BTN. Seems to work fine and free for us DiectTV guys. I've been able to see all UM's games, even the ones that would normally be only on PPV.
UnRack the App.St. Game on BTN, coulda went without seeing that unfold live.

As for the game...
I hear local radio callers saying "Michigan needs to get out early with a big lead, and bury the Spartans."
I disagree. If Lloyd's smart, he'll spot MSU a 20 point halftime lead. MSU doesn't prefer to just lose, they like to lose in demoralizing fashion. They figure if they're not going to win the game, might as well lead in the game at some point.
Pretty sure Hart and Henne will be back for this one. I haven't seen anything this year that would make me believe MSU can stop that offense.
UM probably by a TD, at the very least.

If Michigan's big offensive line keeps the agressive State pass rush off Henne/Mallett for the most part and if Hart is able to go and be effective...it'll be the 6th win in a row over State for the Wolverines. This looks like another late season fade job by MSU but I don't expect a laugher like last year's game. It's been pretty tight at Spartan Stadium in the last three matchups. The last big win for Michigan was the 23-7 win in '97 on the way to their 1/2 of national title.
It would be kind of appropriate on Saturday if Hart does play that he could pass former Spartan Lorenzo White for 4th on the all-time Big Ten rushing list. He need just 131 yards to move up the ladder. Anthony Thompson and Archie Griffin are also reachable if he does play the rest of the year. Ron Dayne's record will be safe for quite a while.
I expect a close game for 3 quarters with Hart and the o-line wearing the Spartans defense down in the fourth to pull away...
Michigan 28
Michigan State 17

Looks like the powers that be understood the errors of their ways. If I understand it right, FSN is showing the game out west and ESPN is showing it to the rest of the country, at least according to our TV schedule source:

I stand corrected and much happier, though my remote isn't.
I will definitely watch as much as I can of the MSU-Mich game, if it's on ESPN here, which is the way I'm reading the listings.

Michigan @ Michigan State (ABC/ESPN, 3:30) - Brad Nessler, Bob Griese, Paul Maguire, Bonnie Bernstein
Fucking A. I won't listen to either of those assbuckets anymore. It will be Blaha on the radio for me.

Coulda sworn I heard that the Oregon/Ass-U game was going to be on the new Concast sports network dealio. Probably just here, though. Something to do with Comcast being the devil or something.
I'm sure it's on one of them channels though. Might just have to get bellottied and watch it.

Major props to Henne on engineering that fourth quarter comeback. State found their ground game in the third quarter and appeared to be taking this one over. With Hart being a non-factor for the most part, Henne lead the way and made great pass after great pass. It's painfully obvious that the Wolverines biggest advantage in this game was at the QB position. Hoyer's poor accuracy killed State in the first half and he wasn't able take them down the field on that last drive.

Did I say 20 point lead? I meant 10.
Same old Michigan State.

Same old Michigan State.
The two biggest weaknesses on MSU were exploited...the secondary and the QB position. Early on, I thought the State defensive line played well...especially getting pressure on Henne in third down passing situations. When the Wolverines had to abandon the run late in the game to make the come back, State's corners were roasted and Henne made pretty much every throw he had to make. The Spartans were in that game in spite of Hoyer and when the game rested on his shoulders, he crumbled under pressure.
Gotta watch out for the game next week in Madison...the Badgers have 3 losses but they're unbeaten at Camp Randall. If Hill can't go again next week, big edge for Wolverines. All three Badger losses have come against balanced offense. Michigan's offense should give them all they can handle, with or without Hart. I almost think they should save Hart for the Ohio State game or use him sparingly against Wisconsin.

The pressure will be on guys...you've got a title game bid at stake as well as conference title. It's really your game to lose. Lloyd has been beaten down so much in that game, he oughta go into that one loose as ever...especially if it is his last OSU game. They can still earn a Rose Bowl bid if they win out but I'm sure he'd love to ruin the Buckeye's perfect season at the Big House and send off Henne and Hart as conference champs.

MSU's got bigger issues than the qb position. Their defenses have got to stop putting the quarterback in 2 minute drill, do-or-die situations. Hoyer helped spot MSU a 10 point lead with 7 mins left and the D crumbled and handed it right back, later forcing Hoyer to have to put the ballgame entirely on his shoulders.
I understand QBs will sometimes be asked to engineer game winning drives, but it seems like it's an every-game-occurrence with State, and as soon as that shit ends, the qbs will have a much easier time.

not anymore, judging from the moment of silence michigan had for them after the game:
dantonio's pretty angry about how classless it was, though it was in response to his remarks about having a moment of silence for michigan's season after the app state game. jehuu caulcrick's also been lecturing them on how to win with class even though he was pretty ecstatic about planting a state flag on notre dame field two years ago.

I'm surprised Michigan pulled that at the end. In the past they would've handled it casually, just letting the scoreboard do the talking. Dantonio, if nothing else, has done a good job of bringing attention back to this game. John L didn't care enough about the game to get anybody talking.
