I've admitted this year that I've been completely wrong about Callahan. I've admitted that I had been hoodwinked and lulled into thinking that progress had been made. There were many outside the program and a few fans that have been telling us so the last four years, but I and many others had been hopeful that progress had been made.

I mean, with their program in shambles and their recruiting now reduced to – who, in their right mind, wants to go to frickin' Nebraska? - myopic, corn-fed farm kids, So-Daks dreaming of playing "Big Time" college football , and prospects too stupid to get into Iowa, shouldn't Nebraska petition to join the Mountain West? Oh, sure, they're most likely to struggle against the likes of Wyoming, Colorado State, and Air Force, but given time (10-years-or-so), they're more than likely to compete for the Conference Championship.

My guess is you've never been to a game in Lincoln, when recruits visit, that is why many want to come here, the fans the atmosphere and I hate to break it to you the academics. NU has more academic All Americans than any school.

Oh, I'm fully aware of who originally usurped that precious, precious record from us (I'd like to think that's part of the reason CU has punked Taco Tech the past two years), but it will be back where it belongs soon enough. great summation of why Callahan is so easy to hate. Osborne and Solich may have had their occasional obnoxious moments, but you seemed to get a sense that they were genuinely nice, well-meaning guys. Callahan comes off as just an arrogant prick. It's always fun to see the Huskers lose, but seeing the Callahan Era implode has been exceptionally enjoyable. I just hope he makes it to the CU game...
