MU @ CU
Time to put that losing streak in boulder behind.
KU has layed down the gauntlet in the North, time for MU to respond.
Loss of Pig brown was huge, leader, (cue to last year 7-1, loses brian smith, defensive leader, and they flopped to end the season) and big part of defense, somone must step up!

Maclin is very good
by the way, that was what daniel was talking about, when he mentioned licking his chops at CU playing man to man. It was no disrespect to CU, but with their offense and some of their advantages, man to man, would let people get open in seams and deep! U notice when CU went to zones, they let MU catch short ones and punished them. Man to man, 2 long throws!

if CU only rushes 3 and drops 9, they lose.

if Mizzou is patient, they should win this by 2 TD's IMO. CU's only points are on TO's.

again, CU rushes 3 and Daniel hits Maclin inside the 10.

thankfully the defense has stepped up.
nice hit on 3rd and 2
MEMO to teams playing Mizzou, let them get inside your 10, then just pound the endzone with corners. they wont run the ball, they are too smart for that. They have to gimmick it in. Make them kick FG's.
Your QB is 8 yards deep, he hesitates, then he expects to be able to run the ball sideline to sideline inside the 10? Your too smart for CU dave Christiansen!

yeah, i don't get that we gotta get a pretty, outsmart you TD shit. let Daniel run the draw/read. score, that's all that matters.
anyway gotta switch over to OU-ATM.
i tell you, it couldn't be a better fall day/evening in Colorado for a football game as the sun sets here in Boulder. just fuggin beautiful.

were those piss bombs being launched? oh wait, that isnt lawrence!
For MU to win ,the defense had to step up! Especially after the turnovers, and being down early. They showed up, about time Eberflus decided to send the blitz packages on every down.
that soft ass zone he plays is horrible. not only does it hurt the defense, but it allows guys to get behind the safeties. Worst version of cover 2 in country!

Just so you know:
This game turned early in the 2nd quarter when the Missouri Sports Radio Network spotted none other than Linus FREAKING KLEIZA on the Mizzou sideline.
Y'all are fucked, CU. 'Sayin'.

as an erstwhile Nuggets fan (though the NBA sucks), i do a great impression of Kleiza hanging around the 3 point arc wiggling his "i'm open to shoot" hands.
he has a decent chance to be a pretty good role player, but the mental game is not his strong point.
CU fans filing past my apartment on the way home. same old CU fan support.

This game isn't over and Mizzou had best not start celebrating just yet. I watched as Texass came back from 21 down today at Okie State in the 4th quarter and won.
But yeah, I'm feeling pretty good. It's still a mystery to me how this CU team beat Oklahoma. Maybe they started celebrating too soon?
Mizzou appears not to miss Pig much. That Justin Garret kid is a player as well, and is running around blowing shit up. He's got a good mentor.
Go for the jugular, boys. 52-10 sounds like a good number.

wags
i said it after the OU game, they packed it in, got ready for Tejas, then tried to restart the engine and got caught looking ahead! It didnt help that iglesias dropped some big passes to give CU the chance to win the game!
They have to stay after Hawkins, continue to blitz, send more and more. He's hearing major foot steps, he's rattled, finish him and the Buffs off!

OU cashed their chips up 24-7 looking ahead to Texas. OU has tradtionally played some real stinkers the week before and after the Texas game. people forget, but Switzer's teams (prolly still drunk) kicked late FG's to beat ISU in Ames more than people seem to remember the week after Texas. or struggled to beat Vandy in Norman the week before.War Wagon wrote:This game isn't over and Mizzou had best not start celebrating just yet. the best part of Coffman, rucker, maclin, franklin, etc all home grown!
Nebraska would cherry pick MO apart for the talent, and won with them. Their demise has been MU's gain! With a 4 star and 5 star MO kids about ready to decommit and commit to MO from nebraska!
Still have 1 more tough game before KU. At Manhatten! they havent won there in a loooooooooong fucking time!

Think Mizzou saw that KU score and said to themselves, hey, we're not going to be upstaged today?
Hey ku bitches, you struggled to beat these guys, remember?
Yes, business to be taken care of first at home against ATM and then in Manhattan. We owe both them fuckers a beatdown for the ages, especially KSU. I remember a 63-0 pasting at that shithole that needs paid back.
I can't fucking wait for November 24th.
Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't rack the hell out of Gary motherfucking Pinkel for getting his first win in his 7 years at Mizzou on the 1st Saturday in November.
Good job, coach.

Props to Mizzou. After about the first 5-10 minutes of the game, they played near-flawless football.
BTW, I totally agree with KC. What the fuck was CU thinking only rushing 3 guys nearly every play? Didn't they see how well that worked out for Nebraska?
Oh well. I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to KU/MU. This has got to be the first time the Border War has actually mattered in 30-some years (assuming both make it in unscathed).
As for the Buffs, if they can beat a feisty Iowa St. in Ames and put the final nail in Callahan's coffin, I'll be more than happy with Year 2 of the Hawkins era. Going from 2-10 to 7-5 and a bowl berth would be a nice step forward.
