How funny is this going to be if we end up playing each other for the 4th consecutive year?

A lot of talk that we could be matched up, if LSU & OSU play for the title.

I've been savoring that grudge-match since both teams started looking like contenders.

If we can just get LSU and OSU to each drop one... yeahhhhh, buddy.

OU ain't stopping The O on offense, and the D won't get punished All Day like they did the last 3 years.

This is such an intriguing matchup, I'm stoked. OU will surely be showing us their O Face.

Except there's that pesky dealio where if Oregon doesn't go to the BCS Bowl, they'll be facing OSU or Michigan in the Grandaddy... where the PAC10 Champion belongs (if not in the title game).

No. Oregon won't play a big 10 team this year. If Ohio State goes to the National Title game, the Pac-10/Big-10 Rose Bowl is off.

And the only way Michigan makes a BCS game is to win the Big 10, which means beating Ohio State which puts Oregon in the BCS top-2.

Bowl projections, from a couple of ESPN hacks.

Looks like they update this weekly on Tuesday, so I imagine newest projections will be out tomorrow.

I would love to see OU / UO in the MNC game. I think Oregon would give our defense fits and Oklahoma matches up much better against tOSU and LSU but this is getting to be a nice little intersectional rivalry and a game for all the marbles would be crazy.

Go Blue and Pig Sooie.

I'll tell you what...

It's way too early for this talk, so I'll knock on wood...

But if Oregon wins out (if... IF... IF) and makes the Big Game, and DD wins the Heisman...

The last 20 years of hope and hope and hope were all worth it. It's been about 20 years ago that Nike started throwing money at the program, and 20 years since they started getting serious about rebuilding the squad into an upper-tier D1 team.

20 freaking years.

And if the Championship comes this year, it was worth every minute of the wait, worth every heartache along the way, and almost worth watching Ki-Jana Carter having his best game ever at our expense, and worth all of the hate I feel every time I see Kerry Collins or Joe Jerevicius on my TV screen.

And if the Championship doesn't come this year...

Well, I've got 20 more years in me. Bring it on.

Great freaking season so far... even if my team wasn't in the hunt. But since it is... all the better.

Ease up there, champ.

There will be plenty of smack a flowin' if you guys can get by KU and we can get by TT and OSU.

That MU-KU game, at Arrowhead, btw, should be absolutely off the goddamn charts. It's been sold out weeks ago, and now, a potential top-10 matchup, the Big XII North and a possible BCS/MNC shot on the line? Are you fucking kidding me?

I said to Truman a few weeks ago, if there's any possible way he gets tickets ... an extra ticket, I'm THERE. I wouldn't care if I had to wear black and gold ... OK, maybe I wouldn't go that far, but still ...

IF, both MU and KU keep on winning (hell, even if KU loses to Okie State, at this point), what a fucking game that is going to be!

I'm not looking past neither Taco Tech, nor OSU ... but, it's almost unfair. You guys (both MU and KU Fan) will likely have a championship game, before the championship game.

You hung an OU Clown Suit on my ass at last year's Championship Game.

Not to mention that I had to enlist the devil to get my kid to disavow his misguided loyalty to all things Sooner in favor of his home state's football team after that game.

Oh, AND I almost died of frostbite.

no dice on tickets

ive been trying for almost 2 months. i told my buddies to wait it out, there will be tickets, then KU goes and starts 9-0. fuckers.

tickets are going for 500+. i might drive down, or go to harpos and enjoy it. Wont have to dodge any piss bombs. Boy did i fuck up, i still hear it from my buddies. were going saturday, but for them it aint enough.

i told them if MU would make a BCS bowl, ill buy the tickets if its the Orange Bowl. (which other media people have MU in)(i believe orange bowl tickets are 165 a pop, so i should of just bid on KU-MU tickets.

UO and OU won't match up this year unless either:
  • They finish 1-2; or
  • Neither finishes 1 or 2 and one team wins its conference and the other team does not.
OU is locked into the Fiesta Bowl if they win the Big XII and don't finish in the Top 2. UO is locked into the Rose Bowl if they win the Pac-10 and don't finish in the Top 2.

As a sidenote, which would really be a stretch to refer to as "on topic," but just because...

I've lived in Oregon for 40 years or so, and I've followed Oregon Football for almost that long...

And outside of boards like this and whatnot, I've never once heard the University of Oregon referred to as "UO."

It's "U of O" or "Oregon."

If you said "UO" around here, people would look at you funny and wonder who you were talking about.

OK. Gripe over.

And it looks like Oregon State grew tired of being the third-string "OSU" in the country, and now seem to want to call themselves "OS" now. Whatever... "Sheepfuckers" has been working for me.

BtH,

I disagree, respectfully.

http://www.bcsfootball.org/bcsfb/eligibility
Team-Selection Procedures

The bowls will select their participants from two pools: (1) automatic qualifiers, all of which must be selected, and, (2) at-large teams, if fewer than 10 teams qualify automatically. The following sequence will be used when establishing pairings:

1. The top two teams in the final BCS Standings will be placed in the National Championship Game ("NCG").

2. Unless they qualify to play in the NCG, the champions of selected conferences are contractually committed to host selected games:

Atlantic Coast Conference-Orange Bowl
Big Ten Conference-Rose Bowl
Big 12 Conference-Fiesta Bowl
Pac-10 Conference-Rose Bowl

Southeastern Conference-Sugar Bowl

3. If a bowl loses a host team to the NCG, then such bowl shall select a replacement team from among the automatic-qualifying teams and the at-large teams before any other selections are made. If two bowls lose host teams to the NCG, each bowl will get a replacement pick before any other selections are made. In such case, the bowl losing the No. 1 team gets the first replacement pick, and the bowl losing the No. 2 team gets the second replacement pick. If the Rose Bowl loses both the Big Ten and Pac-10 champions to the NCG, it will receive two replacement picks.

A bowl choosing a replacement team may not select any of the following:

A. A team in the NCG;
B. The host team for another BCS Bowl;
C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that I don't want much or none of LSU, and neither should anyone else.
tOSU? Not gonna happen, unless you manage to run the table and somehow sneak into #2. It tOSU finishes out of the BCS title game, most likely they'll be done in by a loss to Michigan, which will not only cost them a spot in the BCS title game but the Big Ten championship as well. I suppose there is some chance of a matchup in the Fiesta Bowl in that event should you win the Big XII, but that would be tOSU's third straight bowl trip to Arizona, and fifth in six years. I think the BCS will place them elsewhere.

Oregon? That's possible only as a national championship game matchup, or if you don't win the Big XII. In the latter case, if there's no Big Ten team available, I suspect the Rose Bowl would rather have West Virginia.

Bottom line: you're Missouri. You should be thrilled to be in the BCS regardless of your opponent.

November 24th will indeed be fun!!

And I have to completely agree with you on the hatred between these two schools..........frankly, it's unbelievable. I know that I immediately feel a certain distrust of anything/anyone Mizzou related, figuring there is some major character flaw involved with anybody who could be a part of such a wretched state and institution and I know the feeling is mutual from MU fan. Good times are coming........I really hope both schools keep winning, just for the chaos that would surround this game. And rest assured, there are very few times I actually want Mizzou to win anything!!

Bwa! Corporate mergers have been derailed here for just such a reason. I've got a card in my wallet that should I be in a serious accident in Kansas, instructs paramedics to take me to the nearest Missouri hospital. I don't want to be caught dead in Kansas.

this isn't 2 fags debating over who's better, Oregon st or Oregon, while sipping their merlot.

This is beer swilling, deer hunting rednecks fistfighting over shit that happened in civil war days. Frozen piss bombs being launched, Tires and windows bashed in. This is a war baby, the records are just a distraction. 1-9 only matters if KU is one of those losses.
