If everybody knows where the camera is, then everybody can cover up their signs relative to that camera angle.Felix wrote:is that about the gist of it?
tell me this is NOT the argument your making.....you do know about the various lenses that are available for video cameras don't you.....lenses that would allow somebody to read the writing on a dime from that height......BSmack wrote: If everybody knows where the camera is, then everybody can cover up their signs relative to that camera angle.
Back away from the comic book spuds. They don't have any lenses that will allow you to see through a clipboard.Felix wrote:tell me this is NOT the argument your making.....you do know about the various lenses that are available for video cameras don't you.....lenses that would allow somebody to read the writing on a dime from that height......BSmack wrote:If everybody knows where the camera is, then everybody can cover up their signs relative to that camera angle.
I think mv handled that one nicely. Refer back to his post if you need it.and what about all of the other angles that are "okay" to shoot from....what if the team has four cameras trained on the coach from all of the various angles they are allowed to shoot from....which angle should the coach be trying to block....
It's one of many things they worry about. Coaches are so paranoid about sign stealing that they cover their mouths when talking on their headsets so that teams can lip read them. And yet you think coaches wouldn't worry about teams stealing defensive signs?after all, the coaches have nothing more to worry about during the course of a game than which angle somebody might be trying to steal their signals from.....
I'm not struggling with anything pinhead.....mvscal wrote:What part of this are you struggling to comprehend, dipshit?
seriously, if there's a bigger non-scandal scandal than this, I'd like to know what it is.....The activity that got the Patriots branded as cheaters lay in the use of a videotape camera on the sidelines of the team's September 2007 victory over the NY Jets. The videographer recorded Jets assistant coaches signaling to players, then panned up to the scoreboard to track signals from down to down, panned down to the coaches in question upon each new down, and so forth. Much airtime was expended and ink discharged claiming that such videotaping constitutes "stealing signals," ignoring as it does that Patriot coaches in the stadium's coaching booth atop the grandstands, viewing through binoculars, were tasked with reading and deciphering opponent signals.
Roger Goodell says you're full of shit. The NFL doesn't yank 1st round draft picks for no reason at all.Felix wrote:seriously, if there's a bigger non-scandal scandal than this, I'd like to know what it is.....
you forgot the $1,250,000 in fines levied too.....BSmack wrote:

They also say all video for coaching purposes must be shot from locations "enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead."
yeah, they're a funny bunch......Dinsdale wrote:
So, in Plain English, the only places it's legal to videotape from are the stadium broom closets and restrooms(sup Irie's Fantasy)?
The NFL office might want to brush up on their Plain English a bit.
but really, doesn't their season have to be asterisked regardless of how they end up...or is it just if they go undefeated.....Don Shula, the coach of the only perfect season in NFL history, believes the Patriots have a legitimate shot at running the table and joining his '72 Dolphins in going undefeated in the regular season and playoffs. But if they can pull it off, Shula insists the NFL needs to place an asterisk next to the Patriots in the record books because Bill Belichick got caught cheating in the Spygate scandal.

shhhhhhh...mums the word.....See You Next Wednesday wrote:Maybe they should asterisk the '72 Dolphins undefeated season, given that it was one of the easiest schedules in the history of the NFL.
but if they move one door down to one of the luxury suites it's okay......NFL rules state "no video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game." They also say all video for coaching purposes must be shot from locations "enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead."
Could somebody show me a picture of the 72 Dolphins celebrating as a team at any time OTHER than the 85 season when the Dolphins ownership invited the team to that Monday Night game against the Bears? I've heard about the celebrations, but I'd rather see some proof than take the word of Jim Rome on this.Dinsdale wrote:Is there anything anyone could do or say to convince the 72 Dolphin Crew what complete fucking tools they look like every season when they celebrate?
In Week 17 you'll see them on the Giants sideline at The Meadowlands in a failed attempt to cheer them to a victory over the Patriots.BSmack wrote:Could somebody show me a picture of the 72 Dolphins celebrating as a team at any time OTHER than the 85 season when the Dolphins ownership invited the team to that Monday Night game against the Bears? Paul, you're a retard. Kill yourself before you reproduce.
Ater a good few seconds of internet research, the "consensus" seems to be that it's happened on an occasion, but maybe not every year.BSmack wrote:Could somebody show me a picture of the 72 Dolphins celebrating as a team at any time OTHER than the 85 season when the Dolphins ownership invited the team to that Monday Night game against the Bears? So then I start to think that maybe, just maybe, the media is what is creating the hype about the 72 Dolphins breaking out the champagne and celebrating the failure of all those who try and fail to match them. Maybe, just maybe, if you didn't have hundreds of reporters searching out 60 something year old former jocks from another era, that said 60 something year old jocks wouldn't have much to say on the subject. He knows what everyone does: Jake Scott doesn't do interviews, rarely surfaces in public, divorced himself from the Dolphins, declined a College Football Hall of Fame bid, didn't join most other Super Bowl MVPs again last year in Detroit and has pulled such a Howard Hughes that a sports memorabilia dealer, showing the kind of focus that sends others in search of Sasquatch, once hired a private investigator to contact him. It took two years.

I do have a vague memory of Bob Griese being pictured celebrating after the Brian Griese-led Donkos went down as the final unbeaten. But the only picture of that is in my head, which is hard to link to, plus you got the "the older a man is, the faster he ran as a boy" factor, so...

I think it’s safe to say that anyone who’s working and/or living in the greater Rochester, NY area has failed at life and probably doesn’t know shit. You know how often times animals will wander off to the woods to just die in peace???… I think Rochester is comparable to those same woods for the state of New York.BSmack wrote:I was listening to some morning scrub here in Rochester on my way in say "And now they'll trot out all the old Dolphins. Jake Scott???
Does this douchebag even know the first thing about Jake Scott? Obviously not. Since if he did, he would know that he's damn near as far away from the media spotlight as a person can possibly be.
Get busy living or move to Rochester.
But not for Randolph Mantooth?Headhunter wrote:They'd do it for Randolph Scott!BSmack wrote:"And now they'll trot out all the old Dolphins. Griese, Kuchenberg, Buoniconti, Jake Scott..."

Sadly, the winds around here prevail from the west. Which means the stench of failure emanating from Buffalo sometimes gets wrongly attributed to Rochester by those living to the east of us.ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:You know how often times animals will wander off to the woods to just die in peace???… I think Rochester is comparable to those same woods for the state of New York.
