Am now working on the book of Jeremiah

Done with Romans and started on this Old Testament book earlier this month. Very interesting. A lot of foreboding and complaining on his part. I guess that's why he's referred to as the 'broken-hearted' prophet, eh? His must truly have been an arduous task. Some parallels with today's age? Perhaps. But, if he was around these days, Rozy would call him a pharisee. Eh. Interesting read if you're familiar with the circumstances surrounding the book.

Jeremiah was a bull frog
Was a good friend of mine
I never understood a single word he said
But I helped him a-drink his wine
And he always had some mighty fine wine

Singing
Joy to the world
All the boys and girls, now
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me

If I were the King of the world
Tell you what I'd do
I'd throw away the cars and the bars and the wars
And make sweet love to you

Sing it now
Joy to the world
All the boys and girls
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me

You know I love the ladies
Love to have my fun
I'm a high night flier and a rainbow rider
And a straight-shooting son of a gun
I said a straight-shooting son of a gun

Joy to the world
All the boys and girls
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me

One chapter and a half to go. Just finished reading how God pronounced judgment on the Babylonians/Chaldeans. Very interesting how He works, wouldn't you think?

Sure. I owe you one. Peace.

I might suggest Evelyn Woods.

At this rate I'll be sleeping with my 15th virgin by the time you post about the next Bible book you've read.

Poppy. Perhaps you're not familiar with the concept, but Scripture isn't like reading your fave Danielle Steele book. You don't just pound out 100 pages before bed at night. It requires reflection and careful contemplation. Jeremiah is one of the longer books of the prophets. I go about a chapter per morning. Half a chapter when they're longer. Don't read on Sundays. Tend to prefer concentrating on the minister's sermon then. Should be done with Jeremiah this time tomorrow, however. I think I'll move on to an Epistle next (Rozy, you can go ahead and ask your priest/whatever to find out what those are). Peace.

At least you're reading something, instead of writing it.

Thank God for that.

I bible preacher once told me that if you read 3 chapters a day and 5 chapters on Sundays, you would have two days left over at the end of the year.

Those days are known as Meth Day and Male Hooker Day.

He’d throw away the cars, too. How are you supposed to get home from the bar once you get blasted?

Sincerely,

If you throw away the man from Mars, there will be nobody to eat the cars, or the bars where the people are.
