If KU loses Saturday

Ok, when!
Are they frauds? It seems people are waiting for them to lose to claim them as frauds. Not playing Tech,Ou, and Tejas was huge, but they have beat everyone on their schedule.
So, how far do they fall with a blowout loss? Some buy this team, many don;t and want to be first to say i told you so on KU>

I hate that dumbass term, and you'll never catch me using it. Why does a team that drops a game or two always have to be a "fraud?"
[coachspeak]You won't win every game you play. GOOD teams will LOSE games.[coachspeak]
It's true, though.

Was BC a fraud? USF? USC? OU? UF? OSU? Whoever else I'm forgetting.
KU's ranking is attributed to staying unbeaten the longest. We all know that their sos is laughable. Therefore if they get their doors blown off by the first real test they could be considered frauds or the other catch word "exposed".

frauds? i dont think so.
There really is no shame in losing if they lose to Mizzou..and if it happens it wouldnt tarnish a great season they've had so far.
I think the bowl game will determine just how good this team is. (yea, i think they'll lose to KU)

The people calling Kansas a fraud now will be calling them a fraud late Saturday night, win or lose.
Hawks lose big? See, they were a joke all along!
Hawks lose at the gun? See, they couldn't handle the pressure when matched up against a real team.
Hawks win? Aw, Mizzou ain't nothin'. c'mon, play in the Meatgrinder(TM) week after week, you ain't going no 12-0 in the SEC, big boy!
That's pretty much what college football is all about.

I know this- IF KU beats MU on Saturday, beats Fraudlahoma or Tejas the following week in SA, AND beats LSU in the NCG it'll be the greatest rags to riches story in the history of college football.
And I'm saying that even though I DESPISE the Gayhawks.

You know what, Paul?
It should have been Kansas State.
Big XII title game, 1998, St. Louis. Ohio State had lost to Michigan State in a stunner a few weeks before, leaving K-State and tennessee as the only major undefeated teams (Tulane got screwed that year, i tell ya).
K-State was heavily favored and led Texas A&M the entire game. I'm pretty sure they were up 11 with five minutes to play. Then a FG...and TD with conversion. And overtime. And double overtime. And then Sirr Parker on 3rd and forever with the dagger.
It was there for the taking...the biggest turnaround in the history of the sport. K-State choked it away and I would argue the program never recovered from it, even though they still won a Big XII title.
I've never had more fun in a game that didn't involve my team or my money than the day K-State let the big one slip away.

Kansas is better than most people think. And Mangino can flat out coach. All people really care about is the SOS and the size of their coach. I think those arguements should not take away anything from what they have accomplished. They have sucked for years playing the same schedule. Now they have a chance to win 2 more and possibly play for all the marbles. I highly doubt they can accomplish this, but by no means will I ever call them a fraud. Too many teams in 1A that play lesser schedules and still can't win that many in a row. Just think what Mangino could do with top notch talent and the recruits the traditional powers get. What they and Mizzou have done has blown me away. I'm pretty geeked that those 2 schools have a chance to get into a MNC or a BCS bowl. I know their fans must be savoring this season and I hope they both do well. And I'm glad Texas did not have to play either one because thye would have sent Texas tumbling towards the Alamo Bowl again.

Then those people will be outing themselves as dumbasses. But seriously, I don't hear many folks calling them a fraud. They're a solid football team that takes care of business and doesn't beat themselves. What more could they do, until now, to prove they're a legit contender?
Sure, I think Mizzou will win this game, but it's not going to be a blowout by any means.

Nice to see Missouri fan showing respect for KU. Rack you guys.
Rightfully so. That big chubby guy can coach an unarmed 2nd grade girl to go for the juggler of a NY longshoreman.
Rack the fat man. That team does NOT make mistakes and their first 2-3 possessions are key to their success; they are nails to start every game they play. That's what makes them so good.
If they are within a touch or leading at the half, MU will have their hands full.
Question is will Pinkel be smart enough to keep throwing to the talent he has or try to run. If I'm him Maclin gets the ball early and often. Daniels can win this game if Pinkel doesn't get cute. Don't stop the short routes, wear down KU defense by running patterns to the perimeter and middle routes with those 2 great TEs. KU will have trouble defending that for extended periods. They can hold up better against the run.
MU's defense will have trouble with KU's offense, Reesing is nails, the reverse will be true, I believe KU will be more disipline on offense because of Mangino. He will try to hold the ball and keep Chase and the offense watching. That's the key. KU can pull that off.
Should be a great game between 2 teams that despise each other for a whole lotta...lotta.
Funny how they've struggled to be anywhere for so long, yet arrive at the same time.
Advantage....coaching. You decide who.
Rack the Big XII North!

i think the obvious point was that michigan didn't have time to develop into a fraud, whereas it's late november and we're all sitting around waiting for the wheels to fall off kansas' season.

Not here.
Tradition aside, this year's KU team reminds me a lot of OU's 2000 season. Relatively new coach, undefeated season going into a huge game (OU had aTm on the road that year, then had to beat OSU in Stillwater, if I remember correctly).
After OU beat KSU in the Big XII championship game, all I can remember hearing about with the hacks on ESPN and national talk radio was who gets the right to destroy a "relatively untested" OU team -- FSU or Miami.
Get ready for that shit, both KU and MU Fan, if you happen to win the Big XII championship game.
That being said, both KU and MU are great stories this year. Whomever wins Saturday ... if the victor manages to either beat OU or UT, I will be pulling for them.
Kansas looks to be a team of destiny, though, much as OU did in 2000. We'll see.

i'm not saying the wheels will fall off, but that schedule coupled with their immediate success makes them a tough sell otherwise. only hindsight will make us believers otherwise. and even if they <gasp> lose a game, it's still an unbelievable season despite the disappointment of getting oh so close, especially when they're 7-5 next year and everyone wants that fat coach fired.

Like I said, KU would be a great story, if they ran the table, ala OU, in '00.
In fact, they would be a GREAT story, for all the "us'es" of the world to seriously go FUCK themselves, ala '00.

I think a team is a fraud when they are ranked higher than they should be. If Kansas is the #1 team and is undefeated then no they are not a fraud. If they lose and don't drop then I would say they are a fraud. When Texas was ranked #6 they were a fraud because they didn't deserve that ranking. But Texas at 11 or 10 is not a fraud. If Kansas loses then to the extent of their ranking they were a fraud but probably not by much.

Henne, Hart, and Manningham say they are coming back to win it all.
Top 5 preseason rating
Preseason #1 in Big 10
They had the hype and got exposed.
The only difference between them and countless others this season, is that Michigan was the first fraud of the season. Doesnt make them any more or less of one.

So we were the Pioneers of 2007 frauds. First in something this year at least. I'll go with frauds. We had quite a debate on how useless pre-season polls are in here. I think the #5 ranking was to high. Is there a dif. between overrated and fraud?
Fraud, overrated, underachieving, they may all fit a season that began and ended the way ours did.
Michigan aside.....
Kansas is what they are. Undefeated. Are the deserving of their ranking? Why not. If they win this weekend and they win the CCG who in here would deem them unworthy? They sit where they do right now because they have avoided losing thusfar. Lose once and the fall could be huge, no matter what they've had a season that most teams in the country would have loved to have had.

us is just about anyone asked to bet on a game between the current #1 and #2. most of "us" wouldn't think twice about taking lsu and giving the points to kansas. what have they proved other than they don't lose to absolutely shitty teams? until they run this mizzou-btcg-bsc gamut i'll consider fucking myself right before admitting, oh shit, i guess they were for real.
they're still a great story even if they lose this week. i think some kansas fan here pointed to their abysmal sos and said, yeah, but we used to go 3-8 against the same opponents.

fraud involves deceit. from the very first kickoff the season we knew exactly who michigan was. a fraudulent would have had us believe otherwise, like that bc was going to add to the pantheon of boston's recent athletic success.

1. Its only "US" or "WE" in regards to the schools football team if YOU play ont he schools football team
2. Kansas hasnt even beaten one of the "others recieving votes" teams in the polls but they are undefeated, so is Hawaii though.
3. If this years Big 12 and SEC OOC schedules are not a Grossly Fucking Huge Indictment as to why the NCAA should step in and make the OOC schedules for all teams.... I dont know what is. No team should have more home than road games and no team should have a OOC schedule of all powder puffs

When the games were scheduled, Im sure that Notre Dame and Nebraska, both on the road made a much a tougher OOC schedule than SE Louisiana, Toledo, Florida International and Central Michigan ALL AT HOME ever will be, dont blame the trojans for Brad and Killians teams being fucking worthless and poorly coached
You dont give teams a pat on the back for 8 home games, you say they are cowards and penalize them for taking the easy route.
Are notre Dame and Nebraska fucked up shitty teams? yeah, now they are but USC had the balls to go on the road and play both of them, Kansas has played a schedule that Mater Dei High school would have gone 10-0 vs.

While there's no defending KU's OOC schedule, their Big XII road victories were quite impressive.
Kansas St.
Colorado (ask Sooner fan about that)
Texas A & M
Okie St.
Could Mater Dei HS beat all those teams on the road? Could USC?
Let's just see what happens on Saturday nite before passing judgement. If KU even keeps this close, they'll have deserved that lofty ranking. But the thing is, the closer it gets to game time, the more confident I am that Mizzou is going to blow them right the fuck out of Arrowhead and expose them for being the overrated frauds that most already think they are.
God forbid they actually win.

I wouldn't necessarily call Kansas frauds as much as I would just say, Missouri is a better team than them...simple as that. Isn't that what this game on Saturday is supposed to accomplish? If you throw the fraud tag on Kansas if they lose, then are we just taking credit away from Missouri for beating "a fraud". I think we can dissect any of the contending team's resumes and find flaws. If you have only one loss or are still unbeaten at this point of the season, you've accomplished something.
The interesting thing will be the fallout of a Kansas loss. Does Missouri become the new #2? You think that win over Illinois is looking better now than Ohio State lost to them? I stated a while back that Missouri could have opportunity to avenge their only loss of the regular in the conference title game which would make them virtually the best one loss team in America. It could very well be an LSU-Missouri title game if that happens. I think the winner of the game in KC on Saturday is advancing themselves one game closer to the MNC game. Say Oklahoma wins in San Antonio, then it'll fall down to Ohio State or West Virginia.

i don't think you can automatically put LSU in the title game, if even one of their players even THINKS about the fact they play in the SEC they might lose a game.
or even two.

Even WVU fans are realizing, If KU or MU win out, they are going to Title game. They will have the Quality wins to finish #2 or better.

Kansas can lose to Mizzou and still make a BCS bowl if Mizzou loses to OU in the big 12 championship game. A 1 loss Kansas squad may get the BCS at large spot over a 2 loss Mizzou team.
