There is no doubt of Julius Caesar's historical authenticity and he claimed to be the son of Venus. Is that supposed to be "evidence that Roman gods existed?" Personally, I think it more likely that it is evidence that gullible dumbfucks existed.

Yep most of the "aristocratic" classes claimed decent from some dvinity or another. For Ceasar it was Venus.
