Never said I believe in Roman gods.... Rather I asked a question....

You know the novel concept of sparking debate in this mostly dead forum...

"The archaeologists are convinced that they have found the place of worship where Romans believed a she-wolf suckled Romulus and Remus, the twin sons of the god of war Mars who were abandoned in a basket and left adrift on the Tiber."

This legend?

Sons of who?

There is no doubt of Julius Caesar's historical authenticity and he claimed to be the son of Venus. Is that supposed to be "evidence that Roman gods existed?" Personally, I think it more likely that it is evidence that gullible dumbfucks existed.

The more things change the more they stay the same, right?
Yep most of the "aristocratic" classes claimed decent from some dvinity or another. For Ceasar it was Venus.
