TAYLOR "CLINGING TO LIFE" by Michael David Smith

Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post reports that Sean Taylor's lawyer describes the Redskins safety as "clinging to life" after losing massive amounts of blood when he was shot early this morning.

Per the report, attorney Richard Sharpstein, speaking from Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, said Taylor is "nonresponsive and unconscious" and the doctors are "worried about a possible brain injury or death."

Sharpstein described Taylor's family and doctors as worrying that Taylor may have lost oxygen to the brain as a result of blood loss from being shot in the femoral artery in the thigh.

"They're waiting to see if he comes to," Sharpstein said. "Right now he's clinging to life and we're all praying he makes it."

I gotta agree with mv here. Darwin was the master of marionettes in this thing. Taylor has a gift and he tried to fuck it up many times. Karma got to him.

Shawn who?

Am I supposed to know, or even care, who this person is?

An NFL player got shot. Seems he musta' pissed off the wrong people. Big shocker, that.

Oh, and he was a Miami Hurrigangstah? Now I'm even more shocked.

I guess Goodell has taken a more aggressive approach in regards to issuing punishment to the players.

Went to 'Da U'...it kind of comes with the territory.

All seriousness though...best wishes to him on making a full recovery.

I wonder what the cap implications are. Does this free up money for the Skins? Or does all that "dead" money accelerate against the cap?

Really? You think Snyder is thinking this morning 'I'm so glad his salary is off the books now.' Come on...

I don't know, or care what Snyder is thinking. It's about as relevant as cousin fucking is to my question.

To answer your question...I'm sure his base salary is off the books but I'm sure his signing bonus is pro-rated for the length of his contract.

Christ on a crutch Shoalz, it's not ALL about you.

If you believe in an afterlife, is Taylor going to heaven or hell?

Sharpstein said Taylor's girlfriend told him the couple was awakened by loud noises, and Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection.
All that money and he couldn't afford one shotgun/handgun? Was he keeping it real for his ancestors?

According to the ESPN article- someone broke through the bedroom door and opened fire right away- which means they were coming after him... not breaking into the house and got caught. Defintely seems like there is something more to it- probably mixed up with some bad shit..

When you commit a crime with a gun, generally the conditions of release bar you from having guns in the future.

But hey, at least he died doing what he loved... he was REPREZENTIN', YO!!!!!

Until this season, in which I'm giving Randy Shannon the benefit of the doubt, since he seems truly comitted to cleaning up Duh U, if I'm an NFL GM, I'm not touching any Miami players. Hell, even the great ones seem to have an unbelievably disproportionate number of legal problems/off field incidents.

Speaking of... how funny is it that the whole "gangsta/thug culture" at DuhU was started by a rich white kid from the suburbs?

He didn't start it, he merely turned a blind eye while it happened under his watch.

And bringing Dennis Erickson in to clean it up is akin to bringing mvscal to a NAACP meeting. Hell, Erickson nutured a gangsta culture in Corvallis, home of Sheepfuckers and big belt buckles... a monumental task, which few could pull off.

Legally, anyway. I doubt anyone will be breaking into Tank Johnson's house anytime soon and he's not allowed to have guns either..
