LSU v OSU let's get going

figure only about 35 days or so to hear how OSU doesn't belong both on this board and in the media...
kind of like last year when no one gave UF a chance...
Last night in the interviews I thought Miles came off as a douche bag...never was a fan of his...we already beat his ass once when he made comments about OSU before the Alamo bowl...
I mean LSU is the annoited team from a media perspective...the meatgrinder, undefeated in regulation, all that speed, etc...how in the hell can OSU beat them?
OSU is in the game for the 2nd year in a row, has a great defense and a strong running game...but can they compete with all that SEC speed.
Personally, Tress is going to pull out all the stops I believe in this game. If the players need anymore motivation look no further than 41-14...if they want to get credibility back they need to win this game convincingly...but then if they do win...OSU fan will hear that LSU wasn't the 2nd best team in the nation...
either way OSU Nation loses...but I want to see the Vest just beat down Les again...
more to follow in terms of breakdowns but I figure I'd start the post with something stupid to get the ball rolling...

Are you kidding me? If tOSU wins that game, Sudden Sam will be telling you that LSU wasn’t even the 2nd best team in the SEC.

In general, I think both the media & the public are hesitant to start lambasting Ohio State and saying they have no chance. It burned the naysayers in '02, and it certainly had the reverse effect last year with Florida.
So I don't think the added "us versus the world" angle is gonna be as hyped as tOSU fan might have expected (or hoped for). But this team will certainly have plenty of motivation nonetheless. Do they have the horses? Well, I'll talk about that later.

LSU rolls
OSU rolls
LSU wins close
OSU wins close
Honestly, would anybody be surprised to see ANY of these scenarios play out? MNC games are the epitome of "any given Saturday" type situations.

Or in this case, "any given Monday."

Well...based on this season I think its fairly obvious no one has any clue.

I hope Tressel isnt using this.
"Hey nobody is giving us a shot this year but nobody gave the gates a chance last year against us and looked what happened...they beat our asses. So lets go out on that field and do what the gates did to us last year"
I have seen it used to compare similar situations but not with the same team.
Y'all got rolled last year, that is why people are expecting it again this year.
But if anyone is expecting anything this year, they are retarded. The upsets defined this season. Embrace the underdog.

Fuck this dome bullshit.
It's too bad a major bowl game will never be played in a Big Ten environment - outdoors, in the cold. The way BIG TIME POWER college football should be played, GOD DAMNIT.
I wonder how fast Holliday can run in thermals.

How many months does it actually solidly snow? Three, if that?
Sounds like when they let the grass grow long to slow down fast teams......how freaking weak!
Hey, we know we are slower than you so can you come play in inclement weather?
How pussy is that? It's FOOTBALL not snowball or rainball or anything like that.
What a bitch ass move. If you NEED an equalizer, you've already lost.
Fucking big ten pussies.

Where I live? Try 4 or 5.
We usually get the first snowfall before Thanksgiving. The snow usually doesn't go away for good until after tax returns are due.

Right. The Big 10/midwest has no speed. If long grass slows down fast playes, what do you think it does to slow players?

Why would the Big Ten need an equalizer? The Big Ten has got the SEC's number in bowl games since the inception of the BCS.

Off the top of my head it would make it harder for FASTER receivers to make cuts and such therefore more reaction time for a defender. That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are other things growing grass long creates.

Tell OSU that the Big Ten has wrapped its dick around the SEC? Ok.

My point is the same things you mention for the "faster" reciever is going to be in play for the "slower" reciever. And with the exception of a few outliers (the Ted Ginn's, Percy Harvin's, Desean Jackson's, etc.) the recievers are extreemly close to the same speed.

The only sure way for an Ohio State victory is if Maurice Clarett finds a way to make the news again.
Since 2003, every major tOSU win was preceeded by the him getting into another jam. Mo laid low during Florida and what happened?

I'm rooting for LSU because Bo is coaching in the game. He won't be working full-time for LSU so I'm isn't sure if he'll have complete control of the D or not. But him winning would be a good advertisement for Neb-football and could help us down the homestretch of recruiting.
I actually wouldn't really care much if LSU lost as long as the D wasn't the cause of it. I don't like Ohio State but I tire of SEC-ballsucking homer always thumping his chest and picking-arguments. Ohio State winning 7-6 would be OK by me.
Honestly, I think OU is the best team in the country at the moment. They looked damn good against Mizzou and dominated a Okie State team that generally plays them tough. Too bad Bradford had that concusion against T-Tech.
LSU's depth at qb has been HUGE this year. When OU, WV, and Oregon lost their qb they ran into problems.

yeah, great post. Vegas doesn't know anything.
and btw, i don't think Oklahoma deserves to play in the BCS gas.

It doesn't matter what Vegas "knows."
How is that relevant to the title game?

Rex you got me confused...I never said wrapping dick around...I just reported the numbers...
so by your logic then with UF beating OSU...then Michigan beating UF means U Mich owns UF???
whatever...

This will sound naive but who is LSU's QB? I have probably seen three of their games this year and recall seeing 2 or 3 different folks depending on who was recently suspended/injured/arrested. Any word on who will start and/or will this be a committee system?

Mat Flynn will be healthy and starting. Excellent runner...deceptively fast and a very good passer. Wish we'd had someone 1/2 as good at Bama this year.
Perilloux (sp?) will play some, too. Good, but young. Likes to fumble.
I'm sure you've gotten this info by now, but I noticed no one had answered you.
Yeah, thanks. I remember watching Perilloux play but didn't think he was the starter. Just a few more hours till bowl season kicks off.

If tOSU team shows up that beat Penn State and Wisconsin back-to-back, they win, regardless of which LSU team shows up.
I think the teams are probably pretty even. Hopefully it then comes down to gameday coaching. Which would make tOSU a lock.

You must not have seen
the Virginia Tech game.
Sure I did. Anybody could have beaten
that Va Tech team. Might have been a different story if LSU had to play the Va Tech team that throttled Clemson.

I forgot about the SEC's vaunted "speed." That legendary "speed" that has a hard time putting any SEC players in the top-ten in the 40 at any position at the NFL Combine...
But fuckin'A, they sure have some "speed."
As far as "women"... the face of a team's women is displayed, accurately or not, by its cheerleaders.
And you can just send that trophy right the fuck on over, SEC. That's HNC (Hottie National Championship) #10 in a row for us, or thereabouts. And when you really get down to brass tacks...
BODE.

it must suck getting an sec team in your bowl game every single year, especially when you dominate a conference so well that some seasons you get two invites.
