Holiday shopping

I've been preoccupied with some family and work projects this year and haven't gotten a jump on my shopping like I ususally do. On most years I have a lot of my shopping finished by late in November. But this year I still haven't bought a thing. I looked at the calendar this week and got a little shot of adrenelen down my spine. Just a panic. I don't have a lot to get and mostly just for the kids and wife and wife's mother. But I hate to fight the malls at this time of year. So what I'm thinking about doing is ordering gifts online this year. Has anyone done the online shopping routine before? If so is it really safe to do? It sounds so easy and some of the stores will even wrap your gifts for you. When it's so easy like that I think there must be a catch or maybe I'm going to be screwed some way. What do you think about it or what is your experience with it please?

I'm going to pick up a tree from Walmart of Home Depot this weekend. Last year I took the kids out to a tree field and cut one down ourself. But it was cold and the kids were cranky about it and I cut my darn finger with the saw on top of it. Tony had fun laughing about that well into the new year. That's about all the experience was good for. Live and learn. I'll drag the decorations out from the closet and we can decorate the tree and house together as a family on Sunday. The wife will bake some treats and get the holiday music playing while we play and decorate. These are the good days.

Have a good season and be safely responsible everyone

I've made many purchases on line with zero problems so far. Most places have reasonable return policies if that needs to be addressed. If I had my way, I'd do it all on line--- click-click-click and gifts show up at people's doors after delivery by the brown van. Of course Mrs.O just has to shop in a store with walls-- so I escort her to the malls and she gets to do her thing. the price we pay for a roll in the hay !

Great service with Amazon.com and deliveries are pretty quick. Also using gift cards as well. Trying to down-size the gift buying this year.

Thanks for your input, Wolfman and Bobby42. I did most of my shopping online this week. I will finish it up early next week. No problems and so far so good. Knock on wood.

Happy Holidays everyone!

BSmack calls bullshit.

Dan, I hope you get bilked out of your last remaining dollar online. I hope your dwelling is transformed into a vale of tears and suffering this holiday season. Silly putty doesn't stand in well for brains, Dan - despite your attempts to the contrary.

Go shake some red and green glitter onto a dog turd and eat it up, you goddamn ninny. Happy holidays.

You are one sick puppy Dan. The authorities are tracking your IP address now.

Is this one of those white trash Home Depots? Say hello to AP for us, will ya? Be sure to have him trim the bottom boughs of pubic hair from your taint with his electric chain saw when you go mancave spelunking with him and Y2K.
