A lot of people are proclaiming this "album of the year". I don't know, but it's pretty nice stuff.

I like bluegrass and all, but, that bitch is getting in the way of an LZ tour of the colonies.

The thing that will stop a Zeppelin tour, if it does, is Plant's inability or unwillingness to carry it off. Simply put, I don't know if his voice can stand the strain of anything even remotely resembling heavy touring with Led Zeppelin material. If Plant wants to tour with Zeppelin, it will happen, regardless of any work he has planned with Krauss.

BTW: Alison Krauss and Robert Plant would be a hell of a show. I don't do concerts very often these days, but that's a show I'd want to see. As for the album, I downloaded it and it's pretty good.

As a kid, I lived, breathed, and ate Led Zepplin. Life sized posters adorning every wall, every album, every single (still have an unopened Hey Hey What Can I Do Japanese B-side single)... Zep diehard, to say the least.

That said, I have no desire to even watch the new POS sellout move. But I am curious whether Jimmy Page played a guitar solo by drawing his cane across the strings.

And the way they've treated JPJ over the years, they won't see one dime of my money. Bitches are desecrating my adolesence.

When certain things die, it's often best to leave them in their grave, rather than sticking some pins in a voodoo doll and bringing them back as zombies.

What did they do to JPJ other than not do a zep tour? I doubt dude has been sleeping under a bridge the last 27 years. I suspect he gets some sort of stipend from the 49 gazillion zep albums that have sold since then.

plant & page take split 2 ways is likely to be less than plant, page and JPJ aka Led Zeppelin, split 3 ways.

i suspect it might have just been than JPJ was too busy kicking back enjoying the $$$$ earned while touring before bonzo tried breathing his own puke.

remember, those dudes did some pretty heavy touring all the way through the 70s and maybe, just maybe dude was a bit tired of it.

It's fairly common knowledge that P&P have kept Jonesy out in the cold whenever there have been talks of reunion. True, in some cases there was no attempt made to package them as Zep reunions, but still, when you have three surviving members of a band and two get back together to record or tour, we're only talking about two possibilities: 1) the third member was asked to join them, but declined; 2) the third member was dissed. I've never heard anything to the effect that JPJ refused to rejoin when asked, but there have been plenty of stories about Jones not being asked. An example is when P&P recorded the '94 album No Quarter;

Page and Plant didn't even tell John Paul Jones about the reunion, so bassist Charlie Jones is a carry-over from the Plant band

I guess they figured having a bassist with the Jones surname was close enough.

I won't speculate as to the motives for not asking him to rejoin on those occasions. It could be they just don't like him. I'm having trouble with the greed explanation, but only because it's hard to imagine any member of Zep is hurtin' for caysh. But whatever the reason, P&P do have a history of forgetting to invite Jonesy to their family reunions.

I checked out some tracks after hearing "Gone, Gone, Gone" on the radio and liking it. The other tracks seemed a lot slower and not as interesting.
