4-loss Heisman

Wow, you have to give it to superman. Lost four games this season, couldn't even get to his conference championship, let alone win his conference, and couldn't even beat a lowly big ten team.

SEC is a fucking meatgrinder
Their speed will be too much for the likes of Bi12 and big10 schools! :P

Damn right, Missouri really struggled with Arkansas. And didn't Arkansas beat the SEC champ?

I'm with you...I saw today that Florida's offense is nothing more than Tebow and Harvin and they still dropped 35 on Michigan.

Troy?
How is that an insult to Mizzou?

I think he is deserving but it is BS that he got it when other guys have traditionally not gotten it because they didn't play for an elite team.

Oh no, you guys are right. If there is one position that is one-dimensional and doesn't really carry the load for the whole team, its QB.
A team with 4 losses can still have the best player in the land at QB.
And bye the bye, didn't Appy St drop 35 on UM? So that says what?

what it means it that it's Tebow,Harvin and everybody else.
look,UF is far from the best team BUT without Tebow they win 4-5 games this year.
dude is a fucking stud.

Same argument can easily be made for Dixon, except Oregon wins fewer games.

I think both of those points have degrees of merit. Oregon looked pretty good in their bowl game though. Tebow had great stats but what did he do when it mattered most or when his team was behind. For example, in the last two drives of the UM game, I think he made one good throw in 8 tries. And if this game was his only loss or one of two losses it might be different but this is his 4th loss.

You know what. You can't fault him too much. I just went back and watched those last few drives. His line sucks.

The 4 Heisman finalists today:
Tebow: 154 passing yards, 57 rushing yards, 4 total TD
Daniel: 136 passing yards, INT
McFadden: 105 rushing yards, TD
Brennan: 163 passing yards, 3 INT (in progress)
Tebow's team didn't win but he still had the best day of the 4 guys invite to NYC for the ceremony.

Of the 4 - who's team won today?
That kinda seems like it carries some weight.

Daniel's team won but Temple was the star of that game. Chase had very pedestrian numbers. The Heisman isn't a team award...at least that's not how it should be looked at.

Naive view.
When was the last Heisman winner, or even invitee from a sub .500 team?

Winner was Paul Horning, and I think Troy Davis was invited despite a sub .500 record.
Tebow was the best of an unimpressive lot. He gets a lot of run for gaudy playstation-type numbers, but little research as to how he got those numbers.

Did you even watch the game?
Temple was the star because Arkansas was playing 7 and 8 D-backs the entire game just to stop Daniel and Co. from lighting them up thru the air. Temple had a great game, but just about any decent RB could've put up big numbers against that prevent D they were playing.
The Mizzou offense was simply taking what they were giving, which was plenty, and that was created by the passing threat.
The Heisman may not be a team award per se, but it's damn sure that no player puts up big numbers without the help of his teammates.

I think I get a pass on any player who played over 20 years before I was born. I suck at spelling and hardly ever use HornUng's name. That equals disaster for me.

Mcfadden was the best player in college football, as he was last year.
tebow had best numbers because of those joke 1-3 yard td's. see other coaches allow their rb's to do that, they dont want their qb getting killed, but Meyer is to smart for that! tebow wont last week 7 next season, he'll be crippled because of his coach and their scheme. 2Linebackers are going to clean him up.

Well, since you asked:
RUSHING GP Att Gain Loss Net Avg TD Long Avg/G
----------------------------------------------------------------
LeFevour, Dan 14 188 1267 145 1122 6.0 19 43 80.1
PASSING GP Effic Cmp-Att-Int Pct Yds TD Lng Avg/G
--------------------------------------------------------------------
LeFevour, Dan 14 133.49 355-543-13 65.4 3652 27 76 260.9
Why didn't the media jerk off to him this year? He became the second guy everto throw for 3,000 and run for 1,000, while almost duplicating Tebow's 20-20 mark.

I can think of two reasons:
1. He plays for Central Michigan, and
2. He plays for Central Michigan.
The point is he didn't have the national exposure that Tebow had. He also doesn't play in a one of the big conferences. Also look at the headstart Tebow may have had by playing for last season's champions.

i used leforve as a reason Mcfadden should of won heisman
his numbers are similar
just because you have no RB(nice recruiting meyer), doesnt mean 1 yard plunges should te touted as great. It's not

Yep, that 68.5 completion % is terrible.

Give me Caldwell and Harvin and I can complete 55% of my passes or more as well.

You and my old repaired arm, too!
Tebow hit almost 70%, though. :D
Most of his passes are wr screens or quick short slants and such. I've never been overly impressed with Tebow. Get a fucking RB for goshsakes!

The "Heisman" sure did show what he was made of.
He was given two chances to win the game and went 3 and out on both. Dude is overrated. The rest of his offense is underrated.
I heard the announcers sucking tebows cock after he threw a incompletion about 5 yards away from his reciever and the defender....they said something to the effect of "He knew the defender was coming and threw the ball so far away so he couldnt get it"....
Dude might be a decent fullback in the NFL.

looks like june jones was dead-on about tebow being the product of a system. granted, you tailor your schemes to your players' abilities, but when the circumstances take you out of your system you're in a world of shit. i can't say i was too worried watching tebow drop back those last two drives and try to pick the umich secondary apart. read one, read two, wait, i have to check down through another one?. i like the play where he dropped the snap, picked the ball up, and threw to harvin without so much of a look. perhaps that's why he completes nearly 70% of his passes. wait, he made that play b/c of poise, not design...
