Flip in the end zone? I missed that. Yesterday FSU got flaged for excessive celebration when a Nole dove into the end zone as he was scoring.
True it is cause for excessive celebration when FSU scores but I have seen that dive/somersault several times with no flags.

I would say we should act like we have been there before but...FSU is rarely there anymore.

Some guy for Ohio State got called for diving in the Michigan game a couple of years ago even though he was diving to avoid a defender and not to showboat.

Injury that comes to mind is AD diving into the endzone last year.

Only way that showboating shit will stop is take away the the points that they scored, especially since the diving technically started before they cross the goal line.

I'd love to see the officials march 15 yards back from the original line of scrimmage and replay the down. The looks on some of the HCs would be priceless...

As for Flordia, if you are talking about the beginning of the game, I have no issue with that. Same as Georgia sending out their entire team to celebrate.

I don't know how anybody can call doing a flip into the endzone "taunting". A stupid and unnecesary celebration, but unless it's directed at somebody it shouldn't be taunting. Pointing at somebody and trashtalking, flipping the ball at them, yes, but not a flip into the endzone. Make it illegal by some other name, but don't call it taunting. Maybe they should make any kind of celebration in the zone a penalty.

Looking back at that video, ADs dive wasnt celebrating. But playing your best player in the 4th quarter up by 3+ TDs vs a shit school is moronic and excessive.

Agree that he probably shouldn't have been in the game. But that is Stoops' M.O. He doesn't play back-ups until the very, very end of games unless they are total blowouts. (Sup, aTm.) Plus, that was the first game that AD's dad had seen in person since being released from prison.

I'm not a fan of Stoops' philosophy in this matter but I just wanted to point out that AD wasn't showing off, just playing his ass off like he always does.

doing a somersault in to the endzone is not taunting, sticking the ball in another players face is, or any mockery of that team and its traditions is taunting, stomping on another teams logo is taunting.
A somersault is just a celebration, it's no worse than a Lambo Leap or a Heisman pose. Its not like Des ran to the the Illini sideline and did the "throat slash."
