As usual, ESPN not paying attention...

Every talking head on ESPN is basically handing the Fiesta Bowl to Oklahoma. Corso has the Sooners winning by "at least" three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Oklahoma's starters are dropping like flies. Reggie Smith, all Big 12 cornerback, is out with an injury. Lendy Holmes, Smith's replacement, is out because of poor grades. Demarcus Granger, stud defensive tackle, is out for being a dumbfuck thief. It also looks like Malcolm Kelly, OU's best receiver, is doubtful with a bruised thigh. Add to all this bad news the facts that Auston English is recovering from the flu, Demarco Murray is still out, and Oklahoma is 0 for its last 3 BCS Bowls and I think you might have a recipie for disaster.

I grant you that WVU also has some distractions and that Pat White may not be 100%. But, I'm caling a WVU win right now. It seems obvious to me that Oklahoma, once again, has lost focus during bowl preparation. What the fuck goes on in Norman in December? Plus, WVU is no doubt sick of hearing how bad they're going to get beat.

WVU 35
OU 30

Goddamnit, but I'll be one very pissed off Mizzoufan if OU shits the bed in this one.

Say it ain't so, Stoops.

I picked WVU in the Bowl Pick-Em, but that was before Rodriguez went to Michigan. And I forgot to change my pick.

If Rodriguez was still at West Virginia, this would be a no-brainer, but without Rodriguez, it's very much up in the air.

Someone tell me again, if the bowl games are so hellfire important, why did Rodriguez leave for Michigan before this game?

Just saw that interim coaches are 0-5 so far....

make it 0-6. Your Lou Holtz impression isn't fooling anyone....

OU 42
WVU 17

Not even close......

Stop the draw stuff that WVU relies on, and they'll fold like trailer park lawn chairs.

i have no idea what will happen, but i can confirm that my recent holiday trip to Norman featured nothing but the bizarre, delirous overconfidence from Sooner fan that usually results in a loss--see KSU 03, USC 04 and Boise.

but who knows? not sure what there is to play for as far as OU goes. may have shot their wad winning the conference...and this team seems to have a fragile ego character that results in a mail-it-in effort every once in a while. and WVU may be getting tired of hearing about how badly OU is going to whip'em.

and playing short-handed on D won't help.

OU fans are something else. Here you've got most all neutral parties saying that you'll steamroll WV, and you're not having any of it.

Show some confidence in your team, Sooner honks. They're Big XII Champs for good reason. This will be no contest.

OU - 38
WV -17

Hopefully WVU somehow takes OU to the woodshed tonight, and VaTech does the same to KU tomorrow night. Then MU will be truly vindicated....and stuff.

Paul, please stop rooting for the same teams I do.

I know you won't, but it's polite to ask nicely... and stuff.

Vindicated?

If that was an attempt at humor, it worked about as well as that Tostitos commercial.

Un-fucking real.

Just turned the game on expecting a sooner romp and it's 13-6 vs. an interim coach?

Maybe the booster New Year's Ece party needs to be scaled back a bit.

Next season have the boys over at Thanksgiving instead.

:?

OU's Oline was getting stuffed early and often and they can't run the ball for shit.
White is blowing past the Dline at will.

Yeah, who would have imagined the 4th ranked defense in Division I playing like the 4th ranked defense in Division I?

What a shock.

WV, Georgia, and USC....all damn fine teams. After VT rolls KU tomorrow, who deserves the AP?

I hope the AP votes for someone other than the OSU/LSU winner.

Would be nice to see a playoff.

The refs giveth, and then they taketh away. Call a phantom holding penalty, and then miss an obvious one.

C'mon Oklahoma... pull your heads out. Still plenty of time.

How is that not a safety?

OU fielded it outside the endzone.

It was a muffed punt. The WVU payer then had a shot at the recovery, but pushed the ball into the end zone where the OU player picked it up.

WTF?

Has it not occured to Chokelahoma to maybe stack the box with 8 guys to stop the run against a team with no passing game?

This is like watching the Arkansas -Mizzou game, only in reverse.

Way to represent, Sooners.

Great idea, Whitey.

Sin,
Pat White's 79yd. TD pass

Geez....was that William Bartee that whiffed on the tackle? Only a current or former Chief would tackle THAT badly.

WV is a different team with a healthy Pat White. If he had stayed healthy So Florida may well have beat them but they'd have gotten by Pitt and be playing for it all on the 7th with Rodriquez still as their coach. Their D is definitely underrated, that goofy 3-5-3 is working.

I'm surprised, with the coaching-change and the way OU played in their last two games I thought this was OU's game, especially after losing in the Fiest last year.

Props to WV for a big performance in a time of crisis.

Hats off to Stewart on rallying the troops. That looked like a completely different team from when we last saw them against Pitt.

Well, if Stoops doesn't call maybe the worst-timed onside kick in the history of football, my score prediction would have been pretty damn close. That game went EXACTLY as I expected. You can see it coming a mile away. OU gets blown by the national media for a month, its players start doing stupid things off the field, Stoops makes zero changes to his bowl preparation, and the opponent comes in with 1,000,000 times more emotion. What a fucking embarassment.

OU in a bowl game or road game = penalties, poor tackling, poor blocking, no emotion, massive choking

How in the name of all that is holy did Stoops call that onside kick? Fucking handed WVU the momentum on a silver fucking platter.

Looking forward to nine more months of Bob getting pissed whenever someone dares suggest that he needs to make changes.

Great game by WV. [SEC Sam]They have enough team speed to finish .500 in the SEC.[/SEC Sam]

I didn’t really care who won this game, but it sure seemed at time like the refs wanted badly to give it to OU. A number of blatant holding calls that weren’t made.

Nice job by the interim coach. I heard that he’s getting the HC job today.

They couldve called holding every play on OU.

Both sides of the ball WV was doing whatever they felt liked doing.

It was sick.

A playoff wouldve been fun this year. WV, Georgia, and USC have all made their case. If the rose would forget that pussy ass Big10-Pac10 shit we wouldve saw Georgia play USC. That wouldve been epic.
