US Army HS all-star game

I watched parts of this game. They started running a ticker at one point showing where guys were going to college, and every other one was going to Notre Dame. How many scholarships did ND have to hand out this year? Every single one of them went to a top player? Holy shit, that has to be the number #1 recruiting class. Most of the rest were going to Ohio State or USC. I did not see one kid going to Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan State, etc.

ND has about 27 scholarships to give out this year. They had 14 guys in the game, I think 3 of which didn't belong. There was no reason for Mike Golic, Brandon Newman or John Goodman to be there, all though all three played well.

John Goodman is a big guy, but dude has got to be 50 years old by now.

They must have been listing everybody going to ND, not just those in the game because there was way more than 14 of them.

ND has 22 commits overall. Rivals lists 9 in the Top 100, 17 in the Top 250, with ND still in the hunt for 2 more of the Top 250.

I'm not a big fan of the ranking system, but 17 of our 22 commits are 4 or 5 stars, fwiw.

On the pessimistic side, there's still a month or so until LOI Day. And being a product of the Faust years, I'm more interested in these guys panning out well once they get to ND than I am in mythical recruiting national championships.

Would that be Mike Golic jr., son of the Mike Golic?

Yep, that be him.

The funny thing is that when the teams were announced, he was the least deserving of the ND commits. After watching the game, it could be argued that he was in the top 3 or 4 in terms of actual play. He was consistantly getting to the second level with his blocks, and did a nice job with Fortson.

I tip my hat to Charlie for the recruiting class but he's got to get something out of them on the field. Crist looks like a big time QB prospect.

My eyes were on Terrelle Pryor on Saturday...please, oh please choose Michigan!

Cissoko (sp) looks like a good DB prospect for Michigan but he got burned once pretty bad by your big receiver recruit for a TD on throw by Crist.

Didn't see too much of McGuffie but I've seen what he's capable of athletically...he's going to be a highlight reel waiting to happen.

Pryor was unreal. Marquis Gray is going to make Minnesota very happy....

Game is ran by Lemming, if you had a booster for any other school picking the rosters for a game to be aired on that schools exclusive network, youd expect the same thing. It was like a 3 hour infomercial for Cheesesteak Charlie.
What I didnt understand was Lemming saying stuff like "I wasnt sold on this kid til he got here this week and I got to see him play" If you werent sold on him why did you choose him to play in the Lemming Bowl and rank him so high?

He doesn't pick the players, dumb fuck, but don't let that get in your way.

Missouri had 2 kids play.

Gabbert had a decent game, especially considering he had the flu.

Jones crushed some dude on a kick off. not exactly what your expecting out of your TE.

Both MU commits and home grown!

that TE notre dame has looks like he's 80lbs.

Munir prince transfering from Notre Dame to Mizzou

Wisconsin commit Wes Kemp changes and commits to Mizzou also.

looking like a nice class. maybe not all starish, but quality at every position coming in.

and next years crop of Missouri kids might best in a long time. 3-5 kids will be in san antonio for all star game. and 2 are already MU commits.
