4 big 12 in top 10

expect MU,OU, to be top 5 going into next years poll, with UT and KU right behind.

KU finally has to play a schedule and faces UT,OU,TT,and MU

MU get Okie light, UT in austin, and KU in KC. With illinois to start the season! Pending what OU does vs Tejas, looks like another OU-MU title game in KC. But who knows, its easy to have 1 magical season, the trick is to sustain that magic. i'm from missouri, so Pinkel,"Show Me"

It's a little early to talk about next year but I love the new hire for Texas at DC. Will Muschamp is going to do wonders for our defense next year.

Our offense has questions galore and we still stand the possibility of losing Quan to the NFL draft. We already lost Charles and J-Mike Finley.

Steve,

I partly agree with you, but if you look at it from the stand point of who behind them would beat them, it's not so screwed up. Yes, UofM beat them, but they are still being punished for the Appy St. loss. Auburn beat them, so they may have a gripe. Other than that, they're about where they should be.

I agree that is what is happening with Michigan......but why in the hell is USC continuing to get a free pass for their Stanford loss?????? Easily the worst loss amongst the top ten......and it's not close. Yet like I've said everybody just seems okey-dokey with that horrific defeat. I will never understand that.

At 12-0 they had to be ranked, no matter what you think of their schedule.

I get it, NU doesn't deserve repect after that aboration of a coaching staff that is still thumbing a ride somewhere on I-80 near Kearney at last report.

However NU gets MU and KU in dear ol' Lincoln next fall and that guy coaching the Chinese Bandits last night will be standing on our sideline and that F*cker Cosgrove will be spanking it in a truck stop bar and grill. He was personnally responsible for putting MU and KU in the North's drivers seat. You'll miss him.

Easiest answer is that a lot of writers are lazy and put little to no thought into their reasoning. The other answer is that USC was injured when they lost to Stanford (who was still in 1A) where as UofM was healthy when they lost to Appy St. (who was 1AA).

Yeah, I'm going to have to call bullshit on that. I could see it, after Dixon's injury, if Oregon continued to suck, and if Michigan finished on a roll but given the way both teams finished, anybody that voted Mich ahead of Oregon needs to lose voting priviliages.

Oregon beats Mich by 30+, at Michigan, early in the year.

Oregon loses final 3 regular season games and then beats South Florida by 35 in their bowl game.
Michigan loses final 2 regular regular season games, then beats Florida in their bowl game.

Both Oregon and Michigan finish with the same record.

Quality (ranked)wins:

Oregon: #17 Michigan, #3 USC, #14 Arizona State

Michigan: #20 Illinois, #13 Florida

Seriously racking my brain here trying to come up with a way that any rational person could vote Michigan ahead of Oregon at the end of this season.

I know everybody is saying USC was suffering from injuries in this game but everybody conveniently forgets that Stanford's starting QB also had to miss the game.......I'd assume that means Stanford had injury problems as well.

USC gets a free pass because they're USC and I get it............but it isn't right. The Stanford loss is damn near as bad as losing to Appy State.

b/c teams who perennially finish in the top 25 probably don't see a difference between being ranked 16th or 19th. it's mizzou fans who are all, whoot! #4! yeah!

it's funny how all of us talk about how bullshit the system and rankings are but continue to buy into it. if it's such a farce then why get so upset? this year's champion was decided by fiat. it's legitimated only b/c lsu as #1 is taken for granted in our discussions.

Which of the Southern Excrementitious Conference teams is Papa a fan of? Normally you dont see conference smack unless the smacker is insecure with the team they supports accomplishments so they hide behind the collective accomplishments of the conference to justify their pitiful and worthless being

no head coaching job for Venables, in my book. and he's no Merv Johnson though all of the Sooners here are too young to know much about Merv coaching for Switzer..

Did Willie ever say what SEC team he was a fan of? Was i correct in knowing that morally bankrupt pile of shit was not an LSU fan.

I give a fuck about the rest of the conference the school I went to plays in. USC owns those fuckin inbred pussies of the SEC and has probably kicked the shit out of Willies team recently to stir the shit between his ears. (willie an arkiesaw fan?)

USC is 17-10 vs the SEC and hasnt lost a game to one of those fuckin pussies in over 20 years.
USC is 30-16 in Bowl games a better winning percentage than any SEC team

You see Willie, I dont have to hide behind conference arguements because the accomplishments of the school I went to stacks up to any other schools accomplishments and I can give 2 shits about the collective PAC 10

However, when you look at the schools with the most National Titles
1. UCLA: 100
2. Stanford: 94
3. Southern California: 85
4. Oklahoma State: 48
5. Arkansas: 41
6. LSU: 40
7. Texas: 39
8. Michigan: 32
9. North Carolina: 32
10. Penn State: 32

or if you only want to look at Mens sports

I get it, shutyomouth is the pathetic welp whos team can not stand on their own individual merits so he goes around spewing some sort of conference bullshit.

when you look at the total amount of titles, it would seem that the IVY league fans have scoreboard, Princeton has as many titles as the SEC or Pac 10 teams have combined to win

Looks to me like we've got a winning record against all other conferences. Sorry you spoke out of line.
Auburn is 5-3 vs the Pac 10 BUT they are 0-2 in games played vs the Pac 10 on the road (wasnt the point Mgo was making that Auburn isnt shit when they board a plane?)

Auburn has only ever played 1 game in a Big 10 stadium, a tie with Wisconsin

Vs the Big 12 Auburn is 11-15 (isnt that a losing record?) they have played at Texas 5 times and lost 4 of them, they were 0-1 @ Nebraska, 0-1 at Tamu and 1-0 @ Kansas St but in Big 12 stadiums, Auburn is 2-6.
2-8 on the road vs the Pac and the Big 12, the amazing part is that in 116 years, Auburn has only had the balls to play 11 games on the road vs Big 12, Big 10 and Pac 10 teams. Congrats, by the way, for that 12-0 mark vs the Sun Belt (with every game at home) that's no easy feat.
