for one, i could never understand how i'd hear people at one of the three flaming lips shows i've attended:

"DID THEY PLAY, 'THEY DON'T USE JELLY,' YET? GOD I LOVE THAT SONG!!!! THAT'S MY FAVORITE LIPS SONG!"

fucking VOMIT! that is probably one of my least favorite lips songs out there. it's like the band didn't even try to make an effort to make that single other than at an A&R man's beckon.

then again, i don't listen to fm radio, so i'm short on songs i could add to this list. i do hate hearing people crying out to hear even flow, a 17 year old single, at pearl jam shows. that and black. come on.

edit: black hole sun is by far the WORST soundgarden song of all time. and people still fucking LOVE IT! oh my lord. pretty noose is a mediocre song and it's still 1k better than black hole sun.

Eric Clapton became known by the younger set for Tears In Heaven (which I liked better when it was called Wonderful Tonight). Decent artist (when someone else did the writing for him), but truly a repulsive song... not as bad as the best the Lips ever sounded, mind you, but still pretty bad.


Then again, Steve Winwood became known with the younger crowd for Higher Love.


And a whole buncha people out there equate Kenny Rogers with a whole host of horrendous country songs.

Floyd - Money.

Not sure if it was a single, but you could chalk it up as one of their worst songs.

Obscured by Clouds, The Division Bell, and Momentary Lapse for Reason were much better albums.

Time is about the only tune worth listening to on DSotM.

Gallows was a shining beacon of originality. Merging folk/traditional music with modern rock with delightful results... which was in stark contrast to that bit of seeping schmaltz known as Tangerine.

so when everyone else in class was ripping off dave matthews songs and other faggot shit like that, i did TIME. and since one of the requirements was you had to have music in the background similar to the tempo you were reading, i used the opener to US AND FUCKING THEM. it was fucking.
