"Green Zone"

What the fuck is the green zone?
I heard the sideline announcer cunt say it and I heard Coughlin say it in a press conference after the game.
Please dont tell me it is some enviro-bullshit. Somehow, if we call the Red Zone the Green Zone, the earth will be a better place?
Props to Brady and Moss for pulling out of the Pro Bowl after getting man handled on the biggest stage. And also big ups to the Commish for destroying tapes to help "destiny" and "fate"

Maybe it's Coughlin's way of saying that's where they need to cash in?
I took it as the moral equivalent of Joe Paterno calling a "Monster Back" a "Hero Back".

Nice. Derek Anderon will take it and Kellen Winslow will step in for San Diego's Antonio Gates. That will make it six Brownies to the Pro-Bowl. Matching the 1994 selection.

Thank You.
So the green zone is in the red zone but not the gold zone and close to the yellow zone. I didnt know there was a different color for every half a yard. I will stick with Red Zone.

No, the white zone is for loading. Now, there is no stopping in a RED zone.
The red zone has always been for loading.
Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for unloading.
Look Betty, don't start up with your white zone shit again. There's just no stopping in a white zone.
Oh really, Vernon? Why pretend, we both know perfectly well what this is about. You want me to have an abortion.
It's really the only sensible thing to do, if its done safely. Therapeutically there's no danger involved.
RACK!

I had never heard of that before either.
So, let's get this straight.
Red zone = Opponent's 20 to goal line
Green zone = Own 10 to opponent's 25
That leaves us with two more zones. Opponent's 25 to 20 and own goal to 10. What are those?
I think the opponent's 25 to 20 would be the yellow zone. Kinda like traffic lights. Red, yellow then green.
The own goal to 10 will be the About To Be Buttfucked In The Mouth Zone or BIM Zone for short.

Coughlin's post game comments very clearly indicate that the "Green Zone" is his own peculiar shorthand for what the rest of the world calls the "Red Zone".
(on how Eli Manning played) “He played super. He did the things in the second half, the fourth quarter, that you have to do to win the Super Bowl. He brought us down the field, he got the ball in the end zone twice, you’d have to throw the script away. We had three time outs, we’re sitting there in the green zone with no timeouts. So you know you’ve got to make a play and you’ve got to make a play to the end zone.
So he played very, very well and very cool very calm.”

The only time Manning made a play to the end zone during that drive with no time outs was when the Giants had the ball at the Patriots 13 yard line.

Yep. He made similar comments after the GB game. I attributed his off-color remarks to his red-faced frostbite at the time. In relation to desired traffic flow, his logic makes sense though… right?

I think he's lost in the O zone.
One drink of wine
Two drinks of gin
And I'm lost in the ozone again.
