Tiller got Purdue to the Rose during a crappy year for the 10 with a good but nothing-special team. For the last several years he has put-out rather soft little-over-.500 Poulan Weedeater Bowl teams that can't knock-off the better teams in the con. If Purde is still happy with 7-5 they should keep him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone after this season. While they are certainly better than when he got there the natives are supposed to be getting restless about the lack of progress.

Tiller's already decided that this is his last year. His teams are famous for tanking the latter halfs of seasons after peaking at 5-0 or so and being overrated in the low teens.

So the coach is gone but he is surprised that the kid is more interested in playing for Rodriquez and Michigan?

The kid doesn't know who he'll end-up playing for or the direction of the program will take post-Tiller. Doesn't help that Purdue has been in the same rut for years now, getting fat on cupcakes early then limping down the homestretch when they hit the meat of the sched.
