Top 5 Dead Wire Characters

Sorry I'm late, guys. Got held up helping McNulty tie ribbons around dead homeless people's wrists.
Here's my Top 5:
5.
Butchie.

A voice of reason and morality in a hard world. Loyal to the bitter, brutal end. Would have been higher if he had gotten Lasik.
4.
Prop Joe Stewart

Love Prop Joe. A great businessman and a solid leader. Would have been higher, but he's Eastside, and I used to be muscle for Barksdale in the Pit.
3.
D'Angelo Barksdale
Kid was a comer. Smart, loyal, tough. Taking some years for the family. Would have been higher if his career wasn't cut short by neck injuries.
2.
Preston "Bodie" Broadus
Hot-headed, fierce banger. Bodie was a stud. Would have been higher if he would have handled Wallace's murder with a little more finesse.
1.
Stringer Bell
What can I say about this dude? Tremendous. Stringer fucking Bell. A businessman, a ruthless banger, old school to the core. Would have been higher if there was a better ranking than first.
Honorable mention:
Brother Mouzone.

Would have been in the top 3 if he had died. Maybe next time, you erudite mutha.
Game ball:
Kima Greggs.
Night night Popos.

Stringer getting knocked off killed female viewership, unfortunatly. It was most propper for the story line though.
D' Angelo looked just like my best friend growing up; so much so that the first night my ex and I watched the sow the first words out of her mouth were "Oh shit is that Miller, hun? When did he become an actor." I even had to stare at the tube for a minute to make sure it wasn't.

Didn't that white dude who was in Kids get whacked too? Or did he just OD?
Of course the women would be obsessed with Stringer, he was a lying, ignorant, and arrogant piece of shit who totally had it coming in the end.

DC!
I don't give out any info before the Sunday night show, since I know that some don't have On Demand and thus the luxury of watching the latest happenings in B'More a week early. But come on, now. Prop Joe and Butchie have been dirtnappin' for nearly a month.
Kima is still alive, and hot as balls. Man I wish I was a fictional lesbian character in Baltimore. I'd build that sexy little popo some kids furniture.
My regards to STâ„¢A, please.

No Probs Big, we don't have HBO so I'm stuck on waiting for each DVD to come out in the vid store, keeps me waaaay more than a month behind. I just finished season 4 the other day.
I'm in complete agreement on Kima btw, I definitely made some fantasy jungle love love to her within the last 2 weeks. It was the first time although I've had it on my mental to-do list for quite some time. It was great btw! She was in full cynical assertive Greggs mode and was like, "c'mon, really? is that all you got"
Anyways, nice to see you Biggie.

not sure about bodie over D. they spent more time developing D's character and the fact he used to ace chicks was left on the table....instead of him just being "conflicted" about slinging and business.
bodie didn't do much except ace Wallace and be a kind of stand-in for "the game" with ethics gone-by in Season 4/ascendancy of the "no-code" game/Marlow. .

Herc, Prez and most of the Baltimore Sun staff are white, if that helps. Prez is REALLY white. And McNulty's British in real life. That's pretty good, right?

First...HUGE THANKS TO PSU! My man gave me some killer advice on torrents, how and where to get them and then how to get them to play. He's a solid jungle guy that has enabled me to stay not only current on The Wire, but a plethora of other great stuff. Give a man fish, and he'll eat some supper...teach a man to fish and he'll catch some fish forever, or something...Thanks PSU.
DUDE!!!! Watched Episode 58 this morn. I'd have to say that Biggie's list needs to be updated with a new number 1. Damnit! For such a stellar show I really don't like the way they went with how and who took him out. I see the irony and all, but still, my man deserved a better departure. I wanted to see some sweet street justice! If the Bunk gets it I'll officially quit the damn show.
I'm suffocating for McNulty over here, that shit is getting deep!
War Quantico coming back with a dead-on McNulty profile! "probably a high-functioning alcoholic" BWAAA!!

I'm going to side with slotting Bodie at #2. When he was spotted getting into the car with McNulty and you knew what his fate was going to be I was depressed as hell. Bodie was always there man, he was at times the voice of reason, at times the comic relief, at times the wise old vet, and on and on. He was always respected by both sides, crooks and crooks with badges. Bodie is still missed by me while D is mostly forgotten.

1.Omar Devone Little " you come at the king you best not miss!
2. Felicia "Snoop" Pearson" Hows my hair look? Classic
3.Preston "Bodie" Brodus the realest G to ever run a corner
4.Russel "Stringer Bell " Are you taking notes on a motha fuckin criminal conspriacy?
5. Prop joe" Close you eyes Joes breath easy
Ep 59 is off the hook. Snoop went out better then any character in the shows history. The Michael, Dukie, Bug scene was a tear jerker and way more powerful then the "wheres Wallace scene". Ive had eps 51-58 on DVD since dec.
Good friend of mine Al is in ep 60 as a deli delivery boy.
One of the best scenes ever on The Wire! Bwahahaha!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZUAbRwgkDZ0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here's an Obit for Omar
Omar Devone Little, a.k.a. "The Terror" (born 1973 or '74), was a Baltimore stickup-artist of legendary proportions. With his trademark facial scar, black trenchcoat, 12-gage shotgun, and out-and-out badassness, Omar was the most fearsome and intimidating thug in all of the land, a straight-menace to the city's drug dealers. With his quick wit and undeniable charm (which lended to his penchant of dropping perfectly-timed one-liners), strict adherance to his code ("I ain't neva put my gun on nobody that wasn't in the game"), accountability, and sincere concern for his community, he was also the most likable and respectable. As the show's lone independant, Omar was able to play by his own rules - openly gay, disdain for swear words - in the Alpha Male Capitol: The Steets. You either loved him or hated him but you had to respect him.
We first get to see Omar is action in Season 1, episode 3 ("The Buys"), when he makes his initial jacking of the Barksdale stashouse. It was a robbery that would spark a three-season long feud, one that ultimately lead to the ultimate demise of one Stringer J. Bell. After scoping the scenery with teammates Brandon (his lover) and Bailey, Omar and Co. bust in one night armed and ready to rip and run. With shotty in hand and scowl on face, Omar demands that young Sterling give up the location of the dope ("Ayo, where it at?"). When the boy refuses to budge, Omar puts a buckshot in his leg. This remains perhaps my favorite Omar scene; his swagger is unbelievable and we realize early on just how fierce and serious this guy is. He does not like to repeat himself and he doesn't have time to play. And he can be extremely violent. Stinkum found out. So did String and his muscle. Savino felt his wrath just last week. The man had ice-water in his veins for his adversaries and had no problem delving in murder if he deemed it necessary.
But other than that, he was a great guy. He was gentle with his boyfriends, he cared for his friends, he respected the taxpaying citizen, he took his grandmother to church on Sunday's. He was so charismatic that even some cops (like Kima and McNulty) were won over by him.
Alas, he had a blind spot for the chil'n, and he would fall at the hands of one, shot through the back of the head by that little bastard Kenard, whom he did not consider a threat. He never got to Marlo. His murder was swift and unexpected, probably not unlike the way many guys in his line of work meet their ends. It may have been realistic but it didn't really make sense in the context of the character and what he was supposed to symbolize. In "The Wire: Truth Be Told," Simon wrote that in all of his Baltimore stories, "there exists a deep and abiding faith in the capacity of individuals. They are, in small and credible ways, a humanist celebration in which hope, though unspoken, is clearly implied." Omar was this show's personification of that optimism, the sole individual operating outside of the rigged institutions the show focuses on. And as such, he beat the odds time and again over five seasons. I thought Omar was supposed to prosper. Why get him got now? Doesn't make sense to me.
But I digress. This isn't about questioning Simon's thinking, it's about remembering Omar, and the courtroom obliteration of Levy, and the heartfelt bench scene with Bunk, and the Mouzone alley scene, and the Spiderman scene, and the "You gonna come at the king, you best not miss" scene. It's about "The Farmer in Dell." It's about paying homage to Michael K. Williams, the actor who breathed life into Omar and then immortalized him with his brilliant perfomance.
May his myth survive his death in Simon's Baltimore after the cameras stop rolling. And may he live on forever with us, the fans, on YouTube and Box Set DVD.

Season Spoiler!!!!
Not 100% sure but I know about 20 people who worked on the wire and there have been a few different endings shot but from what I gather Slim Charles is the last man standing and Avon takes over again from prison. Fitting title for the final episode "The life of Kings". Remeber De'angelo saying " the king stay the king"

.
D never killed any chic. He was lying about the Deridra murder to Poot and the hoppers in the pit to make himself look like a real G. If you watch in later ep's it was Wee-bey who wacked her. D only had one body on him and that was more self defense then actually dropping a bodie for the sake of it.

I think after seeing ep 59 is's obvious that Michael becomes the new Omar(only fitting since he is a lot like Omar as in he's indepenant, takes no hand outs and has a code along the lines of the king him self). That was classic scoping the scene out early on his gut instinct. So the question is does ep60 Does Dukie become the next bubbles or does Prez save him? Who becomes the new McNutty? Whos the cop that they have a wake for? Who is marlo swinging at ib the preview ?
And for a finale my $$ says Slim takes out Cheese and Marlo and Avon takes over with Slim the defacto costodiun to the thrown until Avon gets out of jail?
All in the game! Indeed!
