Clemens Hearing demonstrates my problem w Republicans

The Republicans party screams the most about personal responsibility, and law and order, and not hiding behind lawyers and excuses and doubt. I think that's a fair statement. Now, let's look at what happened yesterday. The Republicans giving Clemens a free pass, and worshipping him. That was so Republican; Giving him a free pass because he is a wealthy, big burley white male with a twang (a goold 'ol boy if you will) from the South (Texas). He is their prototype for a John Wayne/Davey Crockett-type "folk hero." And so they give him a pass. Even though he's doing everything they usually claim to despise: i.e. not being a "straight shooter" using lawyerspeak, being evasive etc.

At first I was pissed that my tax dollars were being wasted on this stuff, but then:

I hadn't thought about it that way.

I have to agree with mvscal.

Agreed, but you didn't need Roger Clemens to show you that. You've had eight years of it in your face from the White House.

Of course, W believes that hard work and clean living got him to the White House. But that doesn't mean that it did.

Maybe some of the committee members didn't find the 'evidence' that compelling.

Your 'problem with Republicans' is probably that you're not too bright.

There is one small problem with this thought. Those meddling fukks are gifted in the art of poking their noses where they don't belong, as reg would put it. This includes their ability to multitask on this subject.

I wish it did mean it would keep them from doiung other stupid shit, but, we all know that isn't the case.

As for it being the reps giving him a pass, maybe I missed something. Are the reps back in charge again in congress.

Guess I gotta watch the news more.

Or they could shriek and bluster about making sure that some comatose chick keeps getting her hydroponic yummies. That seemed to tie them up for a bit when Schiavo was making like a doorstop with a pulse.

I'm thinking that my marriage could use a little protection from the gay agenda this year.

Actually this shit is a prime example of my problem with the federal government in general... why the fuck are my tax dollars being wasted on this sort of shit? Lord knows that some over paid, millionaire, lying, jackasses using steroids in a sport thats history would best be described as "if you ain't cheating you ain't trying" is infinatly more important than issues such as the economy...

Yeah...they should be wasted passing another 500 billion dollar giveaway.

Think before you post.
Doesn't change the fact I think this shit is a waste of time and our money. But point is taken...
