Fuck you Rick Hartzell (and Steve Alfraud)

I was going to not complain about the refs that were obviously cheating last night, but then I found out Rick Hartzell was one of the refs. I didn't even notice that last night. I was more pissed off after the game about the Hawks snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. But I was a little POed with the obviously biased officials. And I think it's proven that the refs were cheating because Rick Hartzell was doing the game.

It's known Hartzell hates Iowa. He came out just a couple of months ago and went off on Iowa because we're talking about not playing at UNI anymore. For those that don't know, Hartzell stepped down as AD at Northern Iowa just a few weeks back. But he was interviewed on TV earlier this season about the rumor that Iowa would only play UNI at home, and he began to rip the Hawks saying that they're afraid to play in Cedar Falls because they know UNI is a better program.

So how is he allowed to ref an Iowa game? That seems unfair. He shouldn't do Iowa State games either because he's good friends with Greg McDermott. But how can a guy that went on TV and ripped the Hawkeye program a couple months back be able to ref an Iowa game?

I know Mace doesn't have the cajones to come on here and make legitimate excuse errrrrrrrrrrrr tell it like it is, but I'd like for him to tell me exactly how he can defend a no-call on Freeman's drive to the basket AFTER they called a tick-tack foul on Bohall the previous possession, which gave Penn State the lead. Go ahead Mace, defend that. Bohall MAYBE had slight contact and Cornley kneed Freeman and forced him to the ground yet no foul? Let me guess, Mace, that was the right calls?

Do I think Iowa lost simply because Rick Hartzell cheated? No. Even with all the bad calls in the 2nd half, Iowa had no business choking that game away. But we're going to continue to lose these games until we get rid of Alford's players that have absolutely zero mental toughness. Games like this keep happening because we don't have a true team leader. So fuck you Alford, you piece of shit. (Dammit, another Iowa loss and another Alford complaint from me......I'm trying to move past that. Perhaps therapy would help!).

But that said, if you don't think the refs were biased towards Penn State in that game, you are either A)Dumb or B)Blind. I swear, does Rick Hartzell ever ref a non-controversial game? This isn't the first time for this guy. Ed Hightower thinks he's a bad ref!

So fuck you Rick Hartzell and fuck you Steve Alford.

i'm still waiting on jon=bitch's take on who exactly knocked iowa out of bowl contention this year. it must have been some big 11 powerhouse, because with all those NFL first round draft picks on the roster, some lowly mid-major couldn't have pulled that off on the LAST DAY OF THE FUCKING REGULAR SEASON.
