Memphis/Kansas

I have no feeling for who I think will win this game tonight. I'm not at all surprised Kansas and Memphis are here. I believe they were/are the two best and most talented teams in college hoops this year. I also believe they will match up very well with each other. Memphis guards probably have a little edge and the Kansas frontline has an edge. Both teams play very good defense and both are medicore foul shooting teams. I think Kansas may be a little bit deeper. Coaching in my opinion is a wash.
My heart says Kansas.....my head says the game is a coin flip. Any objective observers out there with an opinion. I really believe an excellent case could be made for both squads.

I think if Rose is ready to play on the biggest stage, like he has appeared to be all tournament long, Memphis will win.
I see most everything else as a wash, for the most part, between teams, but if Rose is playing well I don't see Kansas having an answer to him.

Kansas wins this one fairly easily.
I'd like to see Memphis State win... but, it ain't gonna happen.

I agree that the talent is basically a wash. It's all going to come down to execution, and there's no way to predict how that'll play out. Wouldn't be surprised to see either team win, but I'd be surprised to see a blowout.
I picked KU to win it all, so I'll stick with 'em. I'll say:
Kansas 87
Memphis 84

It was all over when Danny Manning and the Miralces sold there soul to satan in 88.
Memphis 73 Kansas 68
Actually I think Kansas is proably giong to win by that same score

I'd like to see Kansas win just because I am not sure that Calipari has been doing things by the book in terms of following NCAA rules.

which KU team is going to show up?
the Jayhawks win if they play their best game--if they didn't spend the last 48 hours being all full on beating UNC and Roy.
Memphis can body up with KU which most teams can't do, but KU's sick depth should be a factor.
a few years ago, i posted this before, but my pops traveled with OU's legal team to a coaches "summit" in which he was there with OU and Kelvin Sampson and the general opinion among coaches was that the two dirtiest coaches in bigtime hoops were Billy Donovan and Calipari, he said.
take it for what it's worth. i ain't saying it's rock solid fact.

In a way and by the way they celebrated, Kansas' championship game was Saturday nite in putting to rest the demons left from Roy. I think they may have used it up.
Of course, I'll homer for KU to represent the Big XII well and bring the conference it's first major sports National Title, but Mook asked for objectivity....
Memphis 80
Kansas 75

Billy Packer calling the game is like a big "fuck you" to everyone who loves college basketball.

To be honest, unless my team is playing, I hardly notice the announcers. I just watch the game. When my team is playing, I am, of course, interested in anything they have to say about my team.
But yeah, Packer sucks Pickle's African infested balls.

Hafltime, and it's a Heavyweight battle.
But Kansas is quite obviously the better team.
Too many weapons, and too few for the opposition.

How many minutes into the second half should we look for you to jump back on the Memphis bandwagon ?

Opinions evolve.
CDR is simply sick, but KU is too deep.

Major props to Kansas...it was great to see a very exciting final game with all of the complaints about this being a boring tournament. It's really just been a story of certain teams didn't matchup well with other teams based on style of play and whose guards could control the game. Kansas and Memphis play the most dynamic style and had strong guard play...plus, they got hot at the right time. Memphis looked like they weren't going to be stopped after trashing MSU, Texas and UCLA but Kansas gave them enough trouble on the defensive end and the Tigers old nemesis, the free throw, hurt them in the end. Awesome finish to regulation and we were treated to the best game by far of the tournament last night.

The free throws finally came back to bite Memphis in the ass.
It was inevitable.

'Bout time!!
Wow.....just, wow. I've said for his whole career that I would want Chalmers to take a big shot if we needed one. The guy is a hell of a player and very, very clutch. He made several free throws in regulation that were very important as well.
I definitely had to stress out! It's sickening to lose a game when you can't hit foul shots, something Kansas 2003 knows very well. You need a lot of luck to win this tourney and fate smiled at Kansas this year. I'll sure as hell take it.....and the headache that goes with the morning after! :D

Boozer was from Juneau, wasn't he?
Too many guys from Alaska to keep track of!

I have two old friends from Juneau. Old guys now, bigtime hoopsters when they were young. Of course, they're both big tall strong Scandanavian-descent fuckers, but Alaskans seem to take their hoops fairly seriously.
OT sidenote -- I ain't ever living in a city I can't drive in and out of.
